SNAKES! Learn more, fear less! Fear of snakes is common. But fear does not have to lead to panic. A little knowledge can help Kentuckians recognize that most snakes they encounter are not a threat, and even venomous snakes are best handled with distance, caution and respect.

Save the date!

The Muhlenberg County Homemakers annual BBQ and Beans Supper is scheduled for September 28, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Muhlenberg County Cooperative Extension Office.

Tickets are $10 per plate. All funds raised from ticket sales will go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at the University of Kentucky.

4-H Forestry Field Day at Land Between the Lakes! 🌲
Calling all 4-H youth ages 9–18! Join us on September 11 for a fun and educational Forestry Field Day at Land Between the Lakes!
Youth will have the opportunity to get outdoors, explore forestry, learn about trees and forest resources, and enjoy hands-on activities with other 4-H members. This is a great opportunity to learn something new while having fun in the great outdoors!

Are you interested in beekeeping?

What a great evening with the Muhlenberg County Paradise Beekeepers Association! 🐝💛

A huge **THANK YOU to Will and Candy Reburn with Hives for Heroes** for joining us last night and sharing more about the incredible work this organization is doing to support veterans through beekeeping.

We loved learning more about the Hives for Heroes mission, the connections being made between veterans and experienced beekeepers, and the role our local beekeeping community can play in supporting the program.

And, of course, thank you to everyone who came out, brought a dish, asked questions, shared stories, and helped make the evening such a success. Great food, great fellowship, and a room full of people who love bees—it's hard to beat that! 🐝

If you missed this one, we hope you'll join us next month. Whether you've been keeping bees for years, just started your first hive, or are simply curious about beekeeping, you are always welcome at our meetings.

We hope you are making plans to join us at the Muhlenberg County Extension Office on Saturday, September 12 from 9 AM to 12 PM for our Extension Extravaganza!

We'll have several activities for the kids, free food, games, and information on everything we have to offer. If you have ever had questions about 4-H, Homemakers, etc. now is your chance to get answers. See you there!

Don't miss the Muhlenberg County Homemakers annual Mother/Son Dance scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2026 at 6 PM at the Muhlenberg County Extension Office. 💃🕺

✨ You may pay at the door ($5 per person), but please call us at (270) 338-3124 to RSVP in advance so that Homemakers can prepare to host you. ✨

There will be food, games, photos and dancing. All proceeds go to support the Muhlenberg County 4-H Food for Kids Backpack Program.
