Powder Springs First United Methodist Church is sponsoring a Luminary ceremony for the city along Marietta Street in Powder Springs on Saturday, April 6th. Proceeds from the sponsorship of the luminaries will benefit the Cobb County Relay for Life event, raising funds for cancer research and support for cancer patients in the county. Volunteers are needed to help set up approximately 200 luminaries from 7 - 8pm and then pickup from 9:30p until finished....
Our local bookstore, The Book Worm, is hosting a Book Fest the week of April 8th and we have the option to assist with events happening on Saturday, April 13th in downtown Powder Springs. Working in coordination with NewTerra Compost, the city will be COMPOSTING, RECYCLING, AND REDUCING SOLID WASTE at their Bringing the Sea to the Springs Festival on May 17th, 18th, and 19th. Help our MHS kids get to Nationals in Savannah. We’d love to give them all a chance to get there!! Cost is $500 a student and we are competing in 11 competitions! The store closes Tuesday at 5pm. Volunteers are needed to assist the booster club with concessions. Keep in mind: You can only sign up for one spot per season.
