John McEachern High School NJROTC

Today was my last official work day at McEachern. I'd like to thank Commander Brandan Harris for his leadership of the unit for the last 10 years and his friendship to me and my family. It was an honor to work with him. To all the cadets who were in the unit over the past 10 years, Commander and I have enjoyed teaching and mentoring you, and wish you and your families nothing but the best.

Congratulations to the mighty Indian JROTC Drone Team for winning the Cedar Grove Drone Competition. The team took 1st place in every event and 1st overall. The team members: Cadet Rasheed Gresham, Cadet Elton Jonas-Hampson, Cadet Tamiya Caldwell and Cadet Kyle Checkroune.

On November 14th, McEachern's Mighty Indian JROTC program lost a true friend. The father of Cadet Saxxyun Soberanis and former Cadets Matthew and Mark Soboeranis lost his battle with cancer. Over the past five years, Mr. Soberanis and his wife Esther have been great supporters of the programs numerous fund raisers, community service, competitions and school events. He will be greatly missed.

Congrats to former McEachern Mighty Indian Executive Officer T'asia Walker on her selection for a full ride USMC ROTC scholarship at Hampton University.

Mighty Indian Cadets are still getting it done. These dedicated cadets participated in virtual Uniform Inspection. Shout out to our special Inspectors (parents). Great Job by all!

Congratulations to former Mighty Indian cadet Mario Evans. He was commissioned today and will graduate tomorrow from Tuskegee University.
