Because of their annual benefit performance, DancInspiration, where MORIAH was the beneficiary, MORIAH received an amazing donation of $12,000! We are so grateful for this beautiful and meaningful partnership, which helps spread seeds of kindness into the community! The funds raised allows MORIAH to continue providing free inclusive social programs for children with special needs and building bridges of empathy, acceptance and understanding between neurodiverse and neurotypical peers. Dance Motion Performing Company is excited to present DancIn’spiration: A Benefit for Swift Youth Foundation, January 19th at the Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix. Show time is 7:00p.m

Tickets for the benefit are $15 and can be purchased at the Orpheum Theatre box office starting 6pm January 19th.

Produced by Dance Motion Performing Company, DancIn’spiration is the collaborative effort of six premier Arizona dance studios’ performing companies. Participants include Dance Motion Performing Company, Bender Performing Arts All-Stars, Classic Image Dance, Innerlight Dance, Michaela’s Dance Magic and Bricks Dance Studio. Automatic Response returns to the stage as special guest. Attendees are promised an entertaining and inspiring evening filled with all forms of dance including jazz, tap, musical theater, lyrical, contemporary and hip-hop.

2020 marks the twentieth year for DancIn’spiration. According to Kevin Bender, Artistic Director of DanceMotion, “We continue to look for ways to support our community through dance. DancIn’spiration allows 250 young dancers to use their art for a good cause.” To date, DancIn’spiration shows in Phoenix and the San Diego area have raised well over $185,000 for local children’s charities. Previous Phoenix area beneficiaries include Heart for the City, Sunshine Angels, Arizona Helping Hands, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Caitlin Robb Foundation, which provided funds for children’s cancer care and research.

This year’s DancIn’spiration beneficiary is Swift Youth Foundation. Swift Youth Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to foster positive mentor relationships between economically disadvantaged youth and college-bound teens through enriching and fun after school, weekend and overnight camp programs.
The Swift Youth Foundation envisions a future of youth and teens who are equipped with the leadership skills to reach their full potential and are inspired to carry out a lifelong commitment to social action. Our goal is to raise $12,000+ for Swift Youth Foundation this year.
Dance Motion Performing Company is based in North Phoenix and one of the Valley’s premier dance troupes. It features a cast of youth age 7 through 19 who reside mainly in the North Phoenix, Paradise Valley and North Scottsdale area. Directed since 1987 by Kevin and Meri Bender, the non-profit dance education company focuses on Arts in Education and community arts projects.

Returning as special guests is Alpine Dance Academy’s, Sky’s the Limit Class and Darby’s Dancers. Attendees are promised an uplifting dance performance filled with all forms of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, musical theater, lyrical, contemporary and hip-hop.

This year marks the sixth annual DancIn’spiration performance in the San Diego area for producer’s Kevin and Meri Bender of Bender Performing Arts. Dance Motion Performing Company (The Bender’s serve as Artistic Directors of DMPC) will produce its twentieth DancIn’spiration show in Phoenix, AZ on January 19, 2020. During it’s twenty year run, DancIn’spiration has raised well over $185,000 for various Phoenix and San Diego area children’s charities. According to Kevin Bender, “We continue to look for ways to support our local communities through dance. DancIn’spiration San Diego allows 150 young dancers to use their art for a good cause.”

This year’s DancIn’spiration beneficiary is A Night to Remember Prom, a registered non-profit organization centered in the San Diego area. A Night to Remember is a free Prom honoring students with special needs ages 15-22 years old. Every Honored Guest attending the prom is provided, free of charge, a tuxedo or prom dress, hair styling and make-up by professional cosmetologists, a corsage or boutonniere, a ride in a limousine, a walk down the red carpet (complete with paparazzi and cheering fans), a night of dinner and dancing, a gift bag and special memories that will last a lifetime. Each student with special needs is partnered up with a San Diego student who serves as their host.

Bender Performing Arts began as the Betty Johnson School of Dance, a Phoenix fixture since 1974 with a reputation of excellence for its dance instruction. Owners Kevin and Meri Bender took pride in their curriculum, but wanted to offer the community they served even more. By 2006, that dream had been realized with the opening of a brand new performing arts center. The modern 14,000 square foot facility became home not only to the renowned dance instruction, but also private and group music lessons as well as acting and musical theater.
