Quality Camps and Courses, QQC, provides a high quality learning experience through hands on experim

02/16/2021

As this year has been hard on many students, teachers, and everyone in general, we have decided to develop online curriculum to make things more fun for students. We are making courses for robotics, 3D modeling and printing, laser cutting and more. These courses are still in development, but at some point they will become available. If you have particular interest for any courses let us know and we'll keep you posted when they become available!

Summer 2015 Logistics:
All camps will be:
• $105 (If money is an issue, please let me know. I don’t want that to get in the way of learning!)
• 3 hours a day Monday-Friday
• 9:00 am-12:00, 1:00 pm-4:00 or 2:00 pm-5:00 if I am teaching a morning camp in a different location.

• Aimed at ages 9-15 (If you set up your own group completely, age doesn’t matter)
Location:
This year, I do not have a solid location for camps, thus I will be offering a 25% discount to families who host the camps. I live in Ramona, but am willing to drive a fair distance for the camps. Sign-ups will be run on a first come, first serve basis, the weeks I have available are listed below. If you have a group and would like to host a camp in your area, let me know which week you’d like to reserve. If you want to sign up but don’t have a group, please send me the information below and I will group students together based on their location and availability. I made a page where you can find updates about which weeks are filled up, and who is interested in joining, so everyone can see. https://www.facebook.com/qualitycampsandcourses
To sign up please send me these details and check the page periodically for updates. Be sure to submit payment early to reserve your spot!
1. The weeks and times you are available from the list below
2. Age and gender of your student or students (just to let other students get an idea)
3. Age range your student is willing to participate with
4. Area/city you’d like to have the camp
5. Which camps you are interested in, (all 5… 3 of them, or just 1?)
6. Pet/food Allergies, special needs or any notable medical needs.
Available weeks of Camp, 1st come 1st serve basis:

Advanced Mindstorms Robotics Camp! ( Level 2)
Take your engineering skills to the next level with this exciting, hands-on robotics camp! Level 1 Robotics is a lot of fun, but if you want to put your programming and mechanical skills to the test, sign up for our Level 2 Robotics course where you can build vending machines, target tracking robots, and compete in a complex robotics competition requiring the use of 2 robotics kits per team. This course will provide a recap of Level 1 Robotics in terms of programming loops, switches, and many different sensors including the touch, sound, ultrasonic (distance), and light sensors. Through building vending machines, students will get a real world experience with design tolerances, limited materials, and a timeline to follow. This is practical experience for what it would be like to have an engineering career! Students will go on to compete in a competition where they’ll have the opportunity to earn awards, and apply their creativity to robot design and programming. These challenges are designed to develop team building skills, and reinforce the design process, time management and leadership! It is encouraged that students have taken Level 1 Robotics, or can program switches, loops, and sensors before attending this camp. This is not meant to be a beginner’s camp, it will move more fast paced and allow students more opportunity to come up with their own inventions. With a more advanced group students will be able to experience a whole new level of excitement found in engineering complex tasks!

Make It and Take It Camp Level 2!
If you enjoyed last summer’s Make It and Take It camp (M&T), you will definitely enjoy the second level! Students will learn chemistry, physics and engineering concepts though this spy themed camp! They will learn the different phases of matter and pressure while making balloon powered hover crafts, marshmallow guns, and match rockets! Students will learn about the different types of potential energy by making their spy pens, micro crossbows, boomerang bulldozers, and raddle snake eggs prank. Chemistry concepts will be explained as students go through a series of experiments such as lighting money on fire to distract the “bad guys” and testing out the flame throwing effects of an orange peel. In addition to making multiple mini projectile devices, students will learn several tips and tricks to distracting, pranking, and capturing the villain! Join us in this exciting camp and learn to become your own super hero! A snack will be provided each day, and students will be able to take home most of the crafts they make.

MINDSTORMS ROBOTICS CAMP! (Level 1)
One of the best ways to learn is through doing, which is why this exciting Engineering camp introduces students to both programming and construction processes through Hands-On robotics challenges. In this course students will learn how to program the loops, switches, touch, sound, ultrasonic (distance), and light sensors. This class will use the Lego Mindstorms robots as a base. There will be multiple challenges that are designed to enhance teamwork, leadership, project management, and learning the course material. A few of the challenges include driving through a maze, picking up tennis balls, and popping balloons on the other team’s robot! A snack will also be provided each day. All Mindstorms kits and laptops will be provided, or bring your own!

PUZZLE BOX ENGINEERING COURSE!
In this course students will learn how to make multiple different puzzle boxes! Puzzle Boxes are mechanically locked boxes that require certain combinations to open. One must move around many pieces on the outside of the box in order to open it. This course will give students an introduction to puzzle boxes and an explanation of the different ways to build them using LEGOs, wood, cardboard, metal, and even 3D printers. Students will have the opportunity to make puzzle boxes out of LEGO and Popsicle sticks in this class! Students will also be able to design and build their own original puzzle boxes and enter them into a class competition to win awards!

MAKE IT AND TAKE IT CAMP! (Level 1)
This is an exciting camp with a mix of science, art, and engineering projects! Students will learn how to make over 10 different entertaining crafts and be able to bring most of them home. The activities in this camp have been carefully chosen to be both exhilarating and educational! These are Hands On, scientific experiments and quality crafts that will WOW any audience! Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to make square bubbles, smoke filled bubbles, operational prosthetic hands, Pop-Up cards, invisible messages, Solar Ovens and more!
Students will get a taste of science through the magic tricks and science experiments, a taste of art through the construction of Pop-Up cards and silhouette lampshades with hidden messages, along with an introduction to engineering through the construction of solar ovens, rubber band guns, smoke guns, and prosthetic mechanical hands. Science concepts, teamwork, and project management will be taught throughout the course. A snack will be provided each day. The last day of camp will be held outside; students will cook lunch with their Solar Ovens and have a picnic in the park with team building games.
