On this 🎉 The Latham Foundation congratulates Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP), one of our 2025 on a variety of innovative humane programs.
HARP’s Rehabilitation Wildlife Center 🦅 cares for over 4,000 orphaned and injured wildlife each year providing critical medical care.In addition, HARP’s varied humane education programs encourage leadership to create the next generation of animal advocates and environmental stewards. They provide a number of high school students with opportunities to complete various projects from their project list (for Eagle Projects, Silver Award projects, and Senior projects), including things such as building a nest box, turtle enclosures, after-hours drop off cabinet, amphitheater, or raised garden beds. Projects completed provide a lasting impact for their facility but also on the youth who complete them. 👏🏾

On this 🎉The Latham Foundation is proud to feature K9 Youth Alliance in Los Angeles, one of our 2025 .
Their first Positive Youth Development Series of the year kicks off on July 13th!
K9 Youth Alliance is fueled by the human-animal bond. The program pairs underserved youth and shelter dogs, 🐕 training and learning from each other. They use rewards-based, positive dog training to promote empathy, self-discovery, and non-violence, leading to transformative change. These kids love dogs so much that they are choosing to spend three weeks of their summer training them, building their confidence, and helping prepare them for life outside the kennel. Graduation is set for July 31st at North Central Shelter!

This 🎉 The Latham Foundation goes to one of our 2025 Indraloka Animal Sanctuary!
First, their Resilience Training for Helping professionals. When the work they care deeply about starts to feel unsustainable, those that help may need a little help. Burnout, compassion fatigue, and cumulative stress can quietly erode well-being and effectiveness, even among skilled and dedicated practitioners. At Indraloka, this training is uniquely shaped through experiential learning alongside rescued animals.🐐
Second their Earth Camps for kids throughout the summer are full of kindness, compassion, and unforgettable adventures.
We’re impressed with the wonderful programs they do for kids as well as people in care professions.

This 🎉 The Latham Foundation has a double shout-out! June is Month and one of our 2025 Austin Pets Alive! Barn Cat Program.
Austin Pets Alive! rescues poorly socialized and feral cats from other shelters, and considers placing them in their Barn Cat Program , a non-traditional adoption placement. The APA! Barn Cat Program 🐈⬛, instituted in 2009, is designed to help a specific population of cats – those who may not be comfortable living in a traditional home setting, but would be incredibly helpful and happy as working cats. What a way to multi-task!
