Poway Country Preschool is currently looking to hire responsible, reliable, creative, patient, and intelligent Preschool Teachers to educate and nurture our students. Full time shifts available (Mon-Fri: 8-5).
Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage them, earn their trust and show them love and understanding. Our overall goal is to develop the whole child, recognizing them for their individuality and developing their skills academically and socially so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education and develop a love for a lifetime of learning.
Responsibilities:
Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play: language, art, math and other sciences, dramatic play, music and movement) to teach children
Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve arguments
Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
Track children’s progress and report to parents
Communicate with parents regularly using the Brightwheel app
Collaborate with other educators
Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills:
Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher
Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
Excellent communication and instructional skills
Ability to act as mediator between children
Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
Certification in child CPR and First Aid
Minimum 12 units in Early Childhood Education (Infant Teachers must have or be willing to obtain infant and toddler units)
Completion or willingness to complete: Fingerprint Clearance, Mandated Reporter Training, Pesticide Training, Health Screening

Our Preschool Stage 3 class completed their car unit yesterday. They loved designing their own cars using recyclable goods and even earned their drivers licenses by completing their drivers tests. Proud of all their creativity and hard work.

Hi my Poway Country Preschool family!!! I miss you all!! Wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! Here I am in the backyard of my new home in Maine with a rafter (what a group of turkeys is called). These guys came to visit us today for dinner.. don't worry I didn't eat any! Wanted to take this time to say a warm heartfelt goodbye to my Poway Country Preschool family before heading off to our new home in Maine on Monday. 😭 The last almost 9 years here have been more than I could ask for. I have loved every single child in my care and am blessed to have been apart of this amazing team. Thank you Emi Rodriguez for taking a chance on me all those years ago and creating a safe space for me to raise my children. Thank you to all the staff and parents I have come to adore and for creating such amazing friendships and memories for me and my family. We are currently looking for a new member to join our Poway Country Preschool staff in one of our 2 year old classrooms. The position is full time, Monday through Friday from 8-5 with a starting salary of $16.00 an hour.
The ideal candidate would be a hard working, dedicated, intelligent and creative individual who loves learning as much as teaching and creates opportunities for children to grow not only academically but socially and emotionally by recognizing that each child is unique and learns in their own way.
The minimum requirements include: 12 Early Childhood Education units, one year of in-class experience, current immunizations and physical, a clear fingerprint clearance, and the willingness to complete mandated reporter training, CPR and First Aid training, sexual harassment prevention training, and pesticide training.
