Strong turnout in Port Angeles yesterday as Port Angeles EA members and supporters showed up during bargaining with Port Angeles School District. Educators are united in advocating for the resources, respect, and support needed to attract and retain great educators for our students and schools.

Urgent call to action! Please sign and share.

Today, June 18, the Port Angeles School Board will consider Resolution No. 2526-18, a proposal to formally censure Director Nancy Hamilton for doing her job.

School board members are elected to represent students, staff, parents, taxpayers ... our community. They are elected to represent the community, ask the hard questions, seek transparency and hold district leadership accountable. They are elected to review all information before making decisions openly, honestly, and in the best interests of students, staff and taxpayers. They are not elected to be rubber stamps or be someone's best friend and they certainly should not be punished for doing their job.

If board members begin censoring fellow directors simply because they ask hard and sometimes uncomfortable questions or challenge administrative recommendations, what message does that send to future elected officials? More importantly, what message does that say to our students when we champion critical thinking?

Please take a moment to remind the school board that transparency, accountability and leadership make for a strong school community. Tell the Board NO on Resolution No. 2526-18
