✨ CTE Highlight – STEM ✨

In today's spotlight, we're featuring Pre-Engineering at Poulsbo Middle School. After building their air-powered wooden cars from scratch, students put them to the test in a head-to-head competition. Cars were attached to an air compressor and guided by a fishing line down the track to the finish line.

This course, which introduces students to technology, computer basics, measuring, engineering drawing, electricity, simple machines, and design, connects to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Career Cluster, helping students explore pathways in engineering, manufacturing, and technical design.

✨ CTE Highlight – Health Science ✨

In today's spotlight, we're featuring Medical Detectives at Poulsbo Middle School. Students worked in small groups to dissect sheep brains, examining and labeling the brain's structures up close. The hands-on lab gives students a real look at the organ at the center of so many of the medical mysteries they investigate throughout the course.

This course, which has students collecting and analyzing medical data, interpreting vital signs, investigating disease outbreaks, and applying science and engineering design thinking to real-world health challenges, connects to the Health Science Career Cluster, helping students explore pathways in medicine, biomedical science, and healthcare.
