Peace posters are coming along nicely at Poulsbo Middle! 🎨

Art students are participating in the Lions Club International Peace Poster Competition, an annual design competition open to middle school students around the world. This year's theme is "Harmony in Humanity," and PMS students are working on their designs alongside Kingston Middle School art classes.

✨ CTE Highlight – STEM ✨

In today's spotlight, we're featuring Energy and the Environment at Poulsbo Middle School. Students spent time working in and around the greenhouse, tackling a range of maintenance tasks — planting, cleaning a fish tank, and removing invasive species from the surrounding area outside. Hands-on work like this gives students a real sense of what it takes to maintain a living, functioning green space.

This course, which challenges students to explore sustainable energy solutions, design alternative energy models, and investigate the impact of energy on local and global resources, connects to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Career Cluster, helping students explore pathways in environmental science, sustainable energy, and horticulture.

✨ CTE Highlight – Health Science ✨

In today's spotlight, we're featuring Medical Detectives at Poulsbo Middle School. After studying the anatomy of the human eye in class, students worked in small groups to dissect cow eyeballs — examining the structures up close and connecting what they observed to what they had learned. Cow eyes are similar enough to human eyes to make the comparison meaningful and hands-on.

This course, which has students collecting and analyzing medical data, interpreting vital signs, investigating disease outbreaks, and applying science and engineering design thinking to real-world health challenges, connects to the Health Science Career Cluster, helping students explore pathways in medicine, biomedical science, and healthcare.
