​Get ready for incredible softball, community spirit, and unforgettable memories! The 2026 Junior League Softball World Series is right around the corner, bringing top teams from across the globe to Everest Park in Kirkland, WA from August 1 – August 8! 🌍✨

​Whether you're a die-hard softball fan or looking for a fun, family-friendly summer outing, there is something for everyone all week long.

​Saturday, Aug 1 (Opening Day Fun!):
​📍 Everest Park: Les Schwab Tire Skills Contest (10:00 AM) & Challenger Game (11:30 AM)
​📍 Lee Johnson Field (Downtown Kirkland): Opening Ceremonies (2:00 PM) followed by the Cats & Dawgs Kirkland Classic Celebrity Softball Game (3:00 PM)!

Game #15 (Winner's Bracket Final): D8 edges out D1 3–2 in a nail-biter to punch their ticket straight to the championship game on Saturday!

Game #16 (Elimination Game): D7 dominant in a 13–3 victory over D9, both teams played hard throughout the game.

It may not have been quite as hot as yesterday, but things were definitely heating up on the field! Between 3 lightning delays, a quick round of dust control, and racing the clock before the field lights turned off, we managed to squeeze in both games! ⚡

Whew, it was a scorcher out there today! ☀️ Even with 6:00 PM start times, the heat was no joke—but these girls brought even more heat to the field! 🥎 Nobody went home tonight, but the field is narrowing down... only TWO undefeated teams remain!

Honoring a True Little League Champion ⚾❤️
As Pat completes his term as District Administrator for Washington District 2 Little League, we want to share a special tribute written by his biggest supporter, his wife Malinda:

​"For many years, Pat has poured his heart into this role. While most people saw the title, I had the privilege of witnessing everything that came with it—the endless hours, midnight phone calls, back-to-back meetings, weekends spent at the ballfields, tough decisions, and an unwavering commitment to the players, volunteers, coaches, and families who make Little League so special.
​This role was never just a position to Pat; it was a calling. He truly believes every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, compete, and create lifelong memories. He worked tirelessly behind the scenes—often without recognition—because he knew that when everything runs smoothly, the kids simply get to enjoy the game.
​Over the years, he has mentored league officials, supported volunteers, solved complex problems, celebrated victories, and helped strengthen Little League throughout Western Washington. His leadership, integrity, fairness, and dedication have left a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come.
​To my husband: Thank you for your years of service, your selfless sacrifices, and the example you’ve set for everyone around you. Your legacy isn't measured by championships or trophies, but by the thousands of young lives you’ve touched, the volunteers you’ve encouraged, and the lifelong friendships you’ve built along the way.
​You have given so much to Washington District 2 Little League, and we are all forever grateful. Congratulations on completing an extraordinary chapter! I love you and couldn't be prouder of you."
