Happy International Boba Day! 🧋 Today, we’re celebrating more than just a delicious treat—we’re celebrating a piece of modern Taiwanese culture that has taken the world by storm.

Originating in Taiwan in the 1980s, 'Boba' (波霸 - bōbà) or 'Zhenzhu Naicha' (珍珠奶茶 - zhēnzhū nǎichá) represents the creativity of Chinese culinary traditions. At our school, we love using these moments to explore the language and history behind the flavors we enjoy every day.

Happy International Chinese Language Day (April 20)! Today, we celebrate one of the world’s oldest, most beautiful languages and the legendary inventor of characters, Cangjie.

Today is all about celebrating the world’s most spoken language and the incredible journey you are on as learners. From mastering the four tones to the art of writing characters, you are developing a skill that opens doors across the globe.

Keep up the fantastic work! Each new word you learn is a new window into a vibrant culture and history. We are so proud of your dedication. 加油 (Jiāyóu)! 💪📚

It’s been a busy few months for our performance team! 🦁 From local festivals to community events, our students have had a great time sharing Chinese culture through lion dance and folk dances.

Next stop: Vassar College! We’re looking forward to bringing our traditions to campus and keeping the momentum going. 🥁💃

Our long awaited Lunar New Year celebration was filled with food, laughter, and community!

Students shared thoughtful presentations and songs highlighting the traditions and meaning of the holiday, everyone contributed to a delicious potluck, and the lively auction filled the room with excitement. Thank you to our incredible teachers, supportive families, and the entire MHCLC community for coming together to make this celebration such a success, even after being rescheduled due to the weather.
