SAM camp at Oakwood Friends

Our 2022 session is almost over! We are having so much fun getting messy, making things, coding messages, learning History, doing Chemistry and playing sports & games. Stay tuned for more photos...

Summers are MORE at Oakwood! Here's a quick peek at what our campers enjoyed these past 2 weeks. In the kitchen, on the fields and in the lab, they tried lots of new things. They crafted scenes, travelled (virtually) around the word and re-created history.

Week 1 (July 12-16) is now FULL, apply soon for week 2 (July 19-23).

Join SAM camp for Create A Scene!:
Interested in designing, performing, and storytelling? It is time to get creative - derived from theatre fundamentals, participants will be able to create a character, and short story. Then they will design and build all elements. They will have the opportunity to explore color palettes, period clothing, sewing skills, scenic design, painting, character building, storytelling and so much more.

SAM Camp spots are filling up fast! "If you make it... you can eat it" session is FULL for both weeks of camp. Other sessions have plenty of room in week 2: July 19-23.

Come to SAM camp for "Hands on History."
History doesn't just have to come from a book. Come make a suit of armor! Paint a shield! Cure the Plague! In our Hands on History session we will be learning about a period of history through project based activities and taking home some cool souvenirs!

Join SAM camp for "Around the World in 5 days ."
In this session, you’ll “visit” a new country each day and learn about its land and people. You will draw maps, read stories, craft items, recreate architecture, play games, and even make some snacks found in that country. Come grab a passport, and immerse yourself in other cultures from the convenience of Oakwood’s grounds.

SAM is now Summers Are MORE! at Oakwood Friends. More than math and science, day campers can now choose 2 electives to customize their week. Sports, Cooking, Hands on History, Science or Art and Storytelling... our Oakwood faculty make learning fun with hands-on projects. There's something for everyone!
