The History of the DCC Foundation

The DCC Foundation was incorporated on April 11, 1975, during the tenure of the College's second president, Dr. John Connelly. In 1992, the Foundation became a 501.c.3. During that period, there was no paid staff and only a few directors. Today, the Foundation is guided by a 33 member board. In 1992 the Foundation began a fifteen-year period of sustained growth. In 1992, assets totaled $280,069. By 2007, assets had grown to more than $5 million. This growth has allowed the College to provide scholarships and grants in excess of $300,000 each year. From 2001-2008, more than $1.9 million has been distributed in scholarships and grants. In addition to scholarships, the Foundation annually provides grants of approximately $50,000 to support special programs. The faculty mini-grant program provides small grants to faculty in support of projects related to academic programs. The Dutchess Community College Foundation has become an integral part of the College's drive to maintain excellence and to improve the educational experience for present and future students.

An inspiring evening celebrating the people who make a difference across our community.
DCC Foundation and Foundation Board members were proud to join friends and community leaders at the WMCHealth Network Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital Honors gala, celebrating an extraordinary group of individuals whose leadership, service and dedication help make our region stronger.
We were especially proud to celebrate DCC Trustees Michael Dupree and Michael TJ McCormack among the night's honorees, and grateful for the opportunity to share the evening with so many community leaders, including Sue Serino.
It was a wonderful event filled with purpose, connection and gratitude for the people who give so much of themselves to our community and to the health and well-being of the people who call it home.

October 8, Harmony & Horizons returns to Millbrook Vineyards & Winery for another unforgettable evening celebrating our student performers and the arts.
Here, among the vines where grapes are growing into something beautiful, our students are growing their talents, confidence, and creativity into something they can carry into the world.
Come savor the music. Savor the w**e. Savor the possibility.

Twenty-five years later, the DCC Foundation remembers with tenderness and respect those we lost, those who served, and all whose lives were forever changed.

We honor their memory, and we will never forget.
