We’re almost done visiting Japan and between multiple classes we have studied the Ring of fire, what are tectonic plates?, the structural integrity in an earthquake zone, tsunamis, kintsugi, haikus, native cherry trees, their cultural significance and the festivities surrounding them. We also graphed the timing of the yearly blossoms over the last 2000-ish years. Something that was tracked in Japan for the simple love of the tree and we got to see how this resulted in the accidental documentation of the climate in Japan!

Exciting news! Ms. Jes has 3 openings this fall for students ages 10 - 13. Join us twice weekly, September through May, for a year of hands on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

(Classes are capped at 12 students so every child gets the individual care and education they deserve.)
