Today we were excited to celebrate the launch of the Marist University Community Impact Fund.

This fund, which was created by MPA faculty member Dr. Jim Melitski, will serve as a signature experiential learning program for Marist students. Students will evaluate and select nonprofits to support, actively fundraise for those nonprofits, and distribute the funds to support these important community organizations. Fundraising this year will support:

Dutchess Outreach
Grace Smith House
Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary
Mid Hudson Animal Aid
Unshattered

The application period for the 2027 Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Leadership Fellow Program is now open.

Applications are due November 1, 2026.

This is a two-year rotational program where Fellows have an opportunity to rotate through four different business functions across the agency: staff/support department, line department, finance, and facility operations.

Fellows are full-time, permanent employees with a yearly salary and benefits. After successful completion of the program, Fellows are considered for key positions throughout The Port Authority.

The 2027 program is open to graduate-level students who are completing their degrees between December 2026 and June 2027.

This program starts in July 2027.

Congratulations to Kim Haight (Marist MPA ’07) on her appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Revival, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports the mental health & well-being of military, veterans, and first responders. Kim is an accomplished nonprofit executive, having previously served as the Director of Advocacy for the New York State Children’s Alliance, as Executive Director for the Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, and as the Vice President for Community Impact for the United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region.

Congratulations to Carmen Goffredo (MPA '21) on his new role as Law Enforcement Director for the Child Advocacy Center in the Ulster County District Attorney's Office.

He previously served as a Trooper, Investigator, and Senior Investigator with New York State Police for over 20 years, and more recently as Director of Security for HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley.
