Even a rogue 15-minute downpour could not spoil the day. It made its appearance, soaked everyone just enough to be memorable, and then cleared out so the fun could continue.

Yesterday, we held our 17th Annual Wellness Summit at the Mt. Valley Clubhouse in Barnesville.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a day focused on employee health, performance, and practical strategies that can be applied in the workplace.

Topics throughout the day included improving energy and long-term health, understanding the real costs behind employee health benefits, managing respiratory care more effectively, implementing heat stress mitigation in industrial settings, and exploring personalized approaches to employee wellness.

We also appreciated the partnership with Guardant Health, who provided on-site access to a colon cancer screening blood test, making it easier for attendees to take a proactive step toward early detection.

We had a great turnout this week for our Executive Schuylkill Roundtable on The Current and Future State of Schuylkill County Economic Development.

Thank you to Schuylkill County Commissioners Larry Padora and Gary Hess, along with Frank Zukas (President of the Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation) and Patrick Caulfield (Executive Director of the Schuylkill County Municipal Authority) for sharing their insights.

The conversation covered a range of ongoing projects across the county, including development along the I-81 corridor, infrastructure improvements to support growth, and the role of collaboration between public and private partners.

It was also helpful to hear how businesses can stay connected to these efforts and be part of what’s ahead.

Today we held our 2026 Annual Installation of Officers for the Northeast PA Manufacturers and Employers Association, celebrating leadership and recognizing excellence within our member community.

During the ceremony, Dennis Fink of Northeast Prestressed Products, LLC passed the gavel to Luke Hoak of UFP Industries Gordon LLC, who will serve as Chairman for the coming year.

The event also celebrated several graduates who completed MAEA’s Supervisory Development Series, a program designed to strengthen leadership skills and prepare the next generation of supervisors across our member companies.

Congratulations to our new officers, award recipient, and graduates. We look forward to another year of collaboration, leadership development, and supporting employers throughout Northeast Pennsylvania.

This morning, the Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturers and Employers Association hosted our Annual Legislative Roundtable, bringing together manufacturers, employers, and 11 state legislators for open, candid discussion on the issues shaping Pennsylvania’s business climate.

With 11 legislators in attendance, this marked the largest turnout MAEA has seen for a legislative roundtable, reinforcing the importance of Northeast Pennsylvania’s employer community and the value of direct dialogue with policymakers.

Participating legislators included Senator Lynda Culver, Senator David G. Argall, and PA State Rep. JoAnne Stehr, PA State Rep. Robert Leadbeter, PA State Rep. Dane Watro, PA State Rep. Jamie Walsh, Rep. Brenda Pugh, Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, PA State Rep. Doyle Heffley, PA State Rep. Tim Twardzik, and Rep. Jamie Barton.

Discussion focused on energy and environmental policy, regulatory reform, taxes and the economy, workforce and education, health care, and transportation and infrastructure. The roundtable format allowed for meaningful conversation and real-world insight from employers across the region.

Thank you to our legislators and member companies for your time, engagement, and continued commitment to strengthening Northeast Pennsylvania’s economy.
