LINEAR COORDINATION⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Much has been made over the last 40 years or so of “linear” coordination. It has become a common study and can be approached various ways. There are other sections within the TD catalog that approach this idea through Syncopation Interpretation, in contrast this series approaches it from a more “arithmetic” viewpoint . Coordination flows can be thought of as numbered motions…3’s 4’s 5’s etc. then, those movements can be combined and applied. THE ALFREDS BASIC DRUM METHOD⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Alfred's Basic Drum Method is one of the most successful and long running basic methods ever written. It is a staple, and often included with the basic practice pad, snare drum, bell set, beginner packages that a lot of drum manufacturers offer. Top Down takes the book and goes through it, page by page. This would be a good place for beginners to start off, and also, refreshers, for those who have already been through the basics.
