I couldn’t post yesterday because there were too many feelings… 23 years. I have been doing daycare of some type since a week after I graduated high school. It has been the one of the greatest parts of my life. I have created life long relationships with “my” children. I’ve watched them grow up, get married, travel to exotic places, become the spectacular people I aleays knew they would be…..
I’ve made friendships with their parents. Some that will last forever.
I have worked with incredible, funny, creative people who make my days easier and better just by showing up every morning.
This has been my life for more years than I care to count but, yesterday I said goodbye to it. It was time and I know it but, it doesn’t change how heartbreaking this goodbye was. The universe takes us on many different paths and I’ve found they are usually the ones we need yet, sometimes accepting that is hard.
But, as I stood there yesterday, watching these littles, my forever “babies” have the ultimate playday, I knew that, while this era of my life has ended, they will always be a part of my life.
Each and every one of my children has changed me through the years. Each family has left an imprint on my heart and I am beyond grateful to each and every one of you. Thank you for trusting me, for becoming my friends, for becoming like family….. This journey was beautiful because of all of you.
So, as Time With Tots closes its door for a final time, remember the most important thing I tried to teach you…. When we are here, we are a family. The doors may be closed on a legal basis but, my doors are forever open to each and every one of you because you will always be “my” babies.
Remember: “Ohana means family and family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.” 🌺
