🌨️❄️ Snow Day Greetings, JEMS Students! ❄️🌨️

Hey JEMS Community! It looks like we've got another snow day on our hands. While the winter weather is making things interesting, let's turn this into an opportunity for some fun and productive activities. Here's what you can do:

7th and 8th grade:

•Creative Challenges: Use the day to explore your artistic side. Try drawing, painting, or even crafting something cool. Share your creations in the comments!
•Literary Escape: Grab a blanket, a hot beverage, and dive into a good book. Let the cold outside add to the cozy reading atmosphere. Post your book choice below!

Family Fun Time:
•Puzzle Challenge: Work together on a challenging puzzle. It's a great way to bond and exercise those problem-solving skills.
•Movie Marathon: Pick a movie series or binge-watch a new show with your loved ones.
Popcorn is a must!

Remember, safety first! If you're heading out, take it slow and be cautious. Let's make the most of this unexpected break. Stay warm, stay connected, and enjoy the snow day, JEMS family! ⛄📚❤️

🌟 September is National Su***de Prevention Month 🌟

Hello Students and Families,

As we observe National Su***de Prevention Month this September, we want to remind everyone that support is always available. The 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline is here for anyone experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, or emotional distress of any kind. Whether you’re dealing with thoughts of su***de or simply need someone to talk to, 988 is a vital resource.

📞 What You Can Do:

Learn About 988: Visit Missouri988.org to understand the support and services 988 provides. It’s not just for crises but also for those needing help with emotional distress or mental health challenges.

Spread Awareness: Educate yourself and your community about how 988 specialists can offer support through calls, texts, or chats. They are trained to listen, support safety, discuss coping strategies, and connect you to local resources.

Access Resources: Download or order free materials and posters from the Missouri 988 Toolkit to help spread the word and ensure everyone knows where to turn for help.

Remember, reaching out for support is a sign of strength, and there are people ready and willing to help. Let’s work together to promote mental health awareness and support each other.

If you or someone you know needs immediate assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to 988.

Stay strong, support one another, and know that help is always available. đź’™

🦻 September is Deaf Awareness Month! It’s a chance to celebrate the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community, learn about their culture and history, and promote inclusivity. Here's how you can make a difference:

• Speak clearly and at a normal volume.
• Avoid exaggerating mouth movements or facial expressions.
• Trim mustaches and beards.
• Keep your mouth visible—don't cover it with your hands.
• Always check for understanding.
• Use alternative ways to communicate if needed.

By participating, you help break down myths, foster inclusion, and ensure Deaf voices are heard. Let’s make a difference together! 🌟
