Ibrahim fired a bogey free, 64 today for his low competitive round.

Student vs Coach | Match 6

Playing Hole #7 at Falls Road with Connor Stewart during our 9-Hole Playing Lesson. Connor is preparing for WJ tryouts this week as a rising Freshman.

Aim, Commitment, and Routine were the theme of the lesson. Over-analysis leads to paralysis.

Keep it simple and play to win, Connor. 💪 We don’t play to avoid making mistakes.

Good luck in your tryouts and good luck to everyone who has tryouts this upcoming season.

As my High School golf coach, the late Coach Wolfe used to preach to us, Pressure is a Privilege.

Whether we are on the first tee of tryouts, on the final hole needing a par to make a cut or on a playoff hole of a tournament, after making a double bogey in regulation… it’s an honor to be able to compete. We should be grateful for this opportunity.

Student vs Coach | Match 5

Spotlight this match goes to student of mine, Sophia Orzechowski and her incredible work over the past 18 months!

Sophia started taking the game seriously during that time and her passion for the game, attention to detail and driven work ethic have led to some great results! Sophia knows exactly what she wants, and she has shown that she is more than willing to work for it.

Some of those recent results include the following:

- First Team All-WAAGL
- Stone Ridge Women’s Golf Team Most Improved Player
- T3 Finish in WAAGL Championship, with a 30 stroke improvement from her freshman to sophomore season!
- MAPGA Junior Tour Champion at the Hank Majewski Scholarship Classic
- 6th place finish in the PKB Coastal NC Girls Classic
- Lowered her handicap index from a 25 to 1 in 18 months!!

Keep up the amazing work, Sophia. Sophia is a rising Junior and has the goal of playing high level Dl golf, and she is on her way to doing exactly that.

I’m extremely proud to call Sophia a student of mine and I cannot wait for what her future holds.

Student vs Coach | Match 4

I had a fun match playing against sofiabadillogolf today. Sofia is one of my original junior students from when I started coaching 8 years ago.

Sofia has developed herself into a talented competitor, an independent young woman, and an elite level student of the game.

Recent success for Sofia includes:

- Appearance at the USKids World Championship (T68, 80-77-77)
- Sub-Regional Champion & Regional Round Qualifier for Drive, Chip and Putt
- PKBGT Tour Championship Qualifier
- USKids Local Tour Series Champion
- Currently in mission to beat 36 from Op36 Level 7 (2601-2900 yards)
- Handicap Index around 5 at the age of 13

Sofia conducts herself with incredible confidence, poise and just the right amount of attitude to give her golf coach a hard time. I’ve been blessed to coach Sofia since she was 5 years old and I can’t wait to see what her journey has in store for her in her teenage years!

Ibrahim fired a 2-Under Par (70), while finishing the final 6 holes at 4-Under Par for a one stroke victory.

Student vs Coach | Match 3

I’d like to shoutout my student & friend, Miles Simpson on his successful golf season thus far!

Miles has started to rack up a few fantastic achievements this season:

- Champion at the MAPGA Junior Peninsula Open
- Champion at the MAPGA Musket Ridge Open
- Champion at the MAPGA Jimmy Flattery Memorial
- Champion at the MAPGA Bobby Gorin

Along with four medalist honors this season, Miles had qualified for the Notah Begay Virginia Regional and finished in 6th, as well as finishing 3rd in the Frank Emmit Championship.

Miles has been able to get his handicap currently to a +3 and his scoring average is around 71, merely as a rising Sophomore for Walt Whitman.

Miles has participated in our Level 2 & 3 Summer Camps at Falls Road over the years and I cannot wait to see what he accomplishes in the future.

Miles has an incredible work ethic, unbelievable talent, a humble personality, but most of all is driven and committed towards his goals, which are clear as day.

Keep up the great work, Miles.

Student vs Coach | Match 2

Giving some recognition here to Charlie Finnegan for committing to Drew University for Lacrosse. Charlie is a rising senior at Richard Montgomery and has been taking lessons since he was 9 years old.

Charlie has worked on his golf game and carries a handicap of around a 2 (not bad for a third sport). Working with Charlie has always been fun and it will be exciting to watch his final chapter of his High School Golf career this fall season and even more pumped to come watch one of his games at Drew!

P.S. - I had the read, and I didn’t trust it. He dodged a bullet.

Meaningful Adjustments for student Alex Daniel.

Alex prepares for freshman year tryouts at Churchill and has recently began competing in tournaments. Alex has aspirations to play not just in High School, but college as well.

His attention to detail, eagerness to learn and attitude towards improving will certainly help him get there.

As you can tell from him before vs after pictures from this post, Alex is dedicated towards improving his swing and skill set. It’s amazing what consistency can provide in just a few months of hard work (since March)💪

Alex never has an issue working on something in the proper order, and that’s why his changes are being built to last a lifetime.

3) Slow with a Ball
4) Faster with a Ball
5) Mastery of the Concept
