🏴‍☠️❤️ Learning Beyond the Classroom at PKMS!

Our PKMS Pirates had an incredible opportunity to experience a stickball demonstration and even join in on the action!

A special shoutout and heartfelt THANK YOU to Mrs. Julie Marvin and Poteau Schools Johnson O'Malley and Indian Education Program for organizing this event and sharing such a meaningful cultural learning experience with our students!

We also want to thank our district transportation department for safely transporting our students to and from this event.

At PKMS, we believe education extends far beyond the walls of our classrooms. Creating opportunities for students to explore different perspectives, appreciate cultural traditions, build connections, and learn through hands-on experiences is an important part of our mission to provide an inclusive, innovative, and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued.

🍂🌻 AGRISCIENCE + FALL FUN = A MACKMAZING DAY! 🚜🎃

Our PKMS Pirates in Mrs. Martin’s class traded their classrooms for some hands-on learning and fall adventures at Mackmazing Acres! 🍁

From exploring agriculture and making real-world connections to enjoying all the fun that fall on the farm has to offer, our students had a day full of learning, laughter, and memories! 🌽🐷

We love opportunities that take learning beyond the classroom walls and allow our Pirates to experience education in action!

🚨🏥 CODE BLUE! We’ve Got a Math Emergency at PKMS! 🩺➕✖️

Paging all mathematicians to the operating room! 🚑

Our PKMS Pirates traded their pencils for surgical tools as they collaborated in teams to tackle the Order of Operations in the Pansy Kidd Surgical Clinic!

With patients like Chest Pain Charlie, The Sneezer Sally, Parenthesis Paralysis Pauline, and Code Blue Bill awaiting treatment, our student surgeons had to think critically, communicate, and apply their PEMDAS skills to save the day! 🧠🩻

We love seeing our Pirates learning through creativity, collaboration, and hands-on problem-solving! This is what making learning memorable looks like!

🎃🍂 Sweet Treats & Sweeter Gestures! 🍪❤️🖤

A little fall sweetness made its way to PKMS! A HUGE thank you to Pam Collins and our very own Jordyn Gibson for the adorable pumpkin and fall leaf sugar cookies! 🍁

These thoughtful gestures are such a sweet reminder of the wonderful people who make our Pirate family so special. We appreciate you thinking of us and spreading a little fall cheer! 🥰

🏴‍☠️💌 Our 5th graders have officially started writing to their “Pirate Pals”—the seniors at our high school!

Mrs. Mangrum’s ELA classes are excited to connect with their older peers, share a little about themselves, and practice their letter-writing skills along the way.

We can’t wait to see the friendships and conversations that grow from this special project! ❤️📚✏️
