We kicked things off at home Monday with a WIN! 🙌 Now our girls are hitting the road for games Tuesday and Thursday!

🧩 What does it take to be successful?

Our students in Mrs. Janway’s class were given a puzzle—but there was one important piece missing: the picture! Without knowing what the finished puzzle should look like, students had to rely on communication, collaboration, perseverance, and problem-solving to figure out how to put the pieces together.

This activity gave us a powerful connection to our classroom Norms. Just like a puzzle is easier to complete when we know the goal and work together, our classroom is more successful when we establish shared expectations for how we learn, communicate, collaborate, and support one another.

💡 The big takeaway: Success doesn’t happen by accident. It takes clear expectations, teamwork, and everyone doing their part.
We’re building our classroom community—one piece at a time! 🧩✨

🚨 Exciting news, Pirates! 🚨

Mr. Braden was SO excited to get our after-school clubs rolling… he accidentally got us started a whole week early! 😂🙌

That means clubs are officially happening THIS WEEK! ❤️🖤

We love the enthusiasm—and we’re pretty sure our students won’t mind the bonus week of STEAM, Academic Team, Chess, ACE, and Strings!

PKMS is kicking off Dollar Days tomorrow! 🏴‍☠️✌️

Dollar Days will be a simple, fun fundraiser to help support PKMS student activities throughout the year. The “day” will be randomized, so students won’t always know what fun opportunity is coming next—examples are Hat Day, Sunglasses Day, Crazy Socks Day, and more!

📣Tomorrow’s Dollar Day = HAT DAY! 🎩🧢
Students can purchase a $1 ticket to wear a hat at school for the day.

We’ll keep our staff and families updated each time a new Dollar Day pops up. Thanks for helping us make these little opportunities fun for our Pirates while putting the proceeds right back into our students! ❤️🏴‍☠️
