"Y’all… I don’t know what’s in the air today but these kids are WILD! They’re literally bouncing off the walls like we passed out energy drinks with breakfast. One minute they’re giggling in a pile of blocks, the next they’re reenacting a zoo stampede. Send help (or snacks)!"

Today we brought the energy indoors with a friendly game of preschool dodgeball! This playful activity isn’t just about fun—it helps build key developmental skills in a big way!

Gross Motor Skills: Throwing, dodging, and running improve coordination and balance.

Social Skills: Taking turns and following simple rules promotes teamwork and cooperation.

Emotional Growth: Learning to win or lose gracefully helps children regulate emotions and build resilience.

Listening and Focus: Fast-paced games like dodgeball encourage quick thinking and careful listening to instructions.

Our little learners had a blast while strengthening their bodies and minds. Who knew so much learning could happen while laughing and playing with soft balls?

Today for lunch, we took our taste buds on a little adventure and enjoyed a delicious meal from Asian Star! The children had a blast exploring new flavors and textures, and even got a chance to try using chopsticks—what a fun challenge!

Their favorite dish? Sweet and sour chicken—it was a big hit!

Introducing young children to diverse foods is one of the many ways we explore different cultures in our classroom. It helps them develop open minds, appreciation for global traditions, and a curiosity for the world around them. Food is such a beautiful way to celebrate diversity!

Today, I wore a Galabeya—a traditional outfit commonly worn in Middle Eastern cultures, especially in Egypt, Sudan, and surrounding regions. The Galabeya is a loose-fitting, full-length garment, often beautifully embroidered or decorated with vibrant patterns. Historically, it has been worn for centuries by both men and women, symbolizing comfort, modesty, and cultural pride.

The children were fascinated by the outfit! They loved how bright and colorful it was—and they especially enjoyed the soft jingling sounds it made as I moved around. It sparked so much curiosity and joy, giving us a fun opportunity to talk about traditions, fabrics, and how clothing can tell a story about where someone comes from.

Learning about culture through play, observation, and meaningful experiences is what makes days like today so special!

Yes, We Play with Our Food… and Here’s Why!

At first glance, it might look like a mess—but when little hands squish, scoop, and explore their food, something amazing is happening!

Playing with food is learning. It’s how toddlers build fine motor skills, explore new textures, and become brave enough to try new bites. It's also a big part of developing language—talking about colors, shapes, smells, and tastes opens the door to big vocabulary growth.

Plus, food play helps kids become more independent, curious, and confident eaters!

So next time you see peas being squished or apples being stacked, know it’s more than play… it’s a tasty path to learning!

Independence Starts with Breakfast!

This morning, our little learners took on a BIG responsibility—pouring their own cereal!
Learning to do things “all by myself” builds confidence, fine motor skills, and a sense of independence.

From holding the box just right, to carefully pouring without spilling (or just a little spill!), our toddlers practiced patience, hand-eye coordination, and self-care skills—essential parts of early development.

It may seem small, but to a child, this is a huge step toward feeling capable and confident.

We celebrate the messy moments and the milestones—one bowl at a time!
