HS students share their 3D design skills - Fall 2026: Mrs. Lenth's Interactive Media students demonstrated their skills using Tinkercad, a 3D design software, to create a boat that follows size guidelines. For some students, this is their second boat project if they attended JH classes with Mrs. Lenth. The boats were more advanced as these students had more experience.

The students "float their boats" to measure capacity by the number of pennies they can hold before it sinks. Also, in this HS class, students must create a "peg" to hook on paper clips, testing the stability of the boat. Everyone displayed strong effort and was very creative! The winners are listed below and received candy prizes. Congrats to everyone!

Capacity ( # of pennies)
Dana - 26
Claudia - 13

Stability ( # of paper clips hooked on edge of boat)
Dana - 10
Alexis - 6

8th Grade Tech Boat Challenge - 1st Quarter - Fall 2026

Mrs. Lenth's 8th-grade students (for 1st quarter) used their design skills on Tinkercad to create original 3D boats. We floated our boats to determine whose boat could hold the most pennies. The overall winner for 8th grade was Diego with 19 pennies! The other top winners were: Trinity, Biancy, and Daniel.

Congratulations to everyone on your strong effort! Winners earned a Gatorade and a treat!

This year's 4th Grade Adventure Field Trip took place on October 5th & 6th. 4th grade teachers collaborated with local educational naturalists from Fayette County Conservation and Allamakee County Conservation to create lessons that were related to both science and reading topics. Students dissected squid as a part of their Animal Adaptation Science Unit and participated in an enviroscape demonstration to dive deeper into their Changing Earth reading unit. The group also got to learn new sports and skills which included: fishing, kayaking, and atl-atling! We would like to thank the educational naturalists at FCC & ACC for their continued partnership and support in introducing our students to the outdoors!
