We don’t stop when it’s no longer a Presidential race and neither should you! Hang out with us and other students on March 25th at 5pm in ATC 104. We will have special guests, Edwin Martell and Sean Dunne, who are both candidates for Portsmouth City Council. This will be part of the Primary/Special Election approaching this Spring. They will share who they are, their stances, wards, and why local engagement is important. Good news, there’s more! We will have games, Kahoot, music, and food. Feel free to bring your own games too, but make sure to label them with your name. See you there!

Over 50 people showed up. People of all different backgrounds, identities, sexualities, ages, and genders, coming together to not only support candidates, but something even bigger than that. Democracy. Human rights. Ending Gerrymandering. Access to affordable and inclusive healthcare. Women’s reproductive freedom. Accepting climate change is real and how to prevent further issues. Saying no to bullying your way into the White House, Senate, and more. Maybe one day, all different sides can be more civil and work towards solutions as a team, but compassion, empathy and morals are what we must lead with. So thankful for everyone who came and voted. Special thank you to Gina and Jason Monroe for their pizza donations, Landen Puckett for food & helpful hand in organizing, Riley Galloway for organizing event, publishing, and donations, Zach Elliot for helping us purchase items, and Jack Monroe for his leadership, organizing, and maintaining our food supply.

We are marching to the polls together 🤩🇺🇸🗳️

Gather up your people or even just yourself and meet us on Friday November 1st in the Vern Lobby. We will be holding two meeting times to accommodate your busy schedule, 12:30 PM and 5:30 PM. There is no voting on Election Day at the Portsmouth Courthouse, however, if you miss our March to the Polls, find your polling place and go there on Election Day! The ONLY people able to vote at the courthouse before Election Day are Scioto County residents. Otherwise, you must travel to your polling place on Election Day or submit an absentee ballot.

We ask any student, faculty, or member of the community who is registered to vote to come! Bring your ID and make sure to bring no signs, political t-shirts, buttons, hats, etc. See you there!

GUYS! We are soooo close to Election Day, can you believe it? Luckily, there is still time to learn about your local candidates before you cast your ballot! This Tuesday, October 29th, meet Scioto County’s Recorder and Treasurer, Gail L. Alley and William K. Ogg. Both have years of experience and are up for re-election. You don’t want to miss the chance to talk with them and ask about their plans. It will be at 6:30 PM in ATC 222!

HEY! Did you know a lot of people think they can’t vote early? 🇺🇸 Truth is, you can! Voting early is not something you have to register separately for. As long as you’ve registered to vote by the previous Ohio October 7th deadline, you could vote early! This is a picture of all the times the Portsmouth courthouse Board of Elections office are open 😁 Just bring your ID!

We are playing catch up with Facebook posts! Tonight, we are scheduled to meet with Kate Nunnelley, the Democratic Candidate for Ohio’s District 90. Our meeting tonight is moved to fully online! At 6:30, use the Meeting ID and Passcode to join us on Zoom! If you have questions, write them down and you can ask her during the meeting!

One thing about democrats is….they know how to come thru. What a great night at the Scioto County Democratic Banquet. We are so thankful to be given the opportunity to speak about our club, mingling with members, and meeting candidates Lisa Forbes, Melody Stewart, Michael Donnelly, and Kate Nunnley. We were able to have a “late night” dinner with campus view residents by handing out food graciously donated by the Scioto County Democratic Party.
