🌨️ ☀️ We are past the shortest days of the season, but there will still be more time spent inside before winter is done 🥶!

☃️We love to bring nature indoors at Aquidneck Explorers Academy, here are few ways we explored nature indoors this week (you can try them at home too):

1. 🕊️Daily bird watching and identifying…we LOVE our window bird feeder coupled with our bird identifier sheet. We can compare their colors, size, and see which ones show up as the season goes on! (Check out the Amazon link here https://a.co/d/ei8vrrh)

2. ❄️Snow sensory bin…this week we utilized snow indoors for spray bottle painting and digging for beginning letter sound objects! Such fun sensory play, and science discussions observing how the snow melts over the day!

3. 🌲 Putting together nature item winter suncatchers with water and string…we were able to observe the water turn to ice over time outdoors!

First post of 2025!! This year is going to be full of exploration and adventure, and you’ll be hearing all about it!

One thing you can explore with your littles this year is how to support nature by reducing consumption and reducing waste into landfills!! A great way to do this is supporting local thrifting and consignment opportunities such as those through Be Green Kids Consignments or Thrifty Tots!!

What a special Family Field Trip to Simmons Farm this weekend!!! Experiential learning opportunities help to build stronger neural pathways, and we get to have fun with our friends and family to boot!! 🐐🐓🐄🧠
