Our Super Pig Masked Reader today was… Miss Hannah!

The laughter, the guessing, the excitement… these are the moments children remember. When books are wrapped in joy, silliness, and surprise, we’re not just reading stories—we’re building memories around reading.

And those memories matter. Because when children connect books with fun and love, they grow into lifelong readers. 💛

Today was heavy and holy all at the same time.
I had the honor of sitting in the sanctuary for the final sermon of Pastor John Gowdy at Temple Baptist Church—after 42 years of faithful leadership.
For decades, Pastor Gowdy didn’t just lead a church… he shepherded people, families, and generations. His impact reaches far beyond the pulpit.
I’ve been blessed to serve at the helm of one of this church’s missions, Temple Tots Preschool. Everything we pour into our children—faith, love, stability, hope—exists because of the foundation he helped build.
I felt overwhelming gratitude. Gratitude for his obedience. Gratitude for his steady presence. Gratitude for a life poured out in service.
What an incredible legacy. What an honor to witness it. 💛

It’s Almost Time for Read Across America Week!
Next week, Temple Tots Preschool is putting a fun twist on Read Across America Week with The Masked Reader! 📚
Each day, a mystery staff member will appear in disguise to read a beloved story aloud while children listen closely, look for clues, and try to guess who’s behind the mask. Laughter, excitement, and great books are guaranteed!
Read-alouds play a powerful role in early childhood. As children listen to stories, they build language, attention, comprehension, imagination, and a lifelong love of reading—while learning that books are joyful and meant to be shared.
To extend our read-alouds, students will also participate in hands-on literacy stations aligned with the Science of Reading, strengthening early skills through intentional, developmentally appropriate play.
We can’t wait to celebrate stories, curiosity, and the magic that happens when children and books come together.

Our preschool engineers will explore fall colors, textures, and creativity as they built this beautiful tree-shaped railway. Every connection, leaf, and acorn tells a story of imagination, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. 🚂🍂

🎃 Pumpkin Science in Action!
Today we baked a real pumpkin! From washing and scooping to smelling and tasting, our preschoolers experienced every step with curious hands and wide eyes. Activities like this spark language, math, and science learning in the most natural way — through exploration, conversation, and joy. 🍂✨
