Another great day on the water. A lot of fish caught! There was a friendly fishing battle between father and son today for biggest fish on the trip. The father takes the loss, after a nearly 1.4lb scup is caught! We caught scup, black sea bass, dogfish and skates. We ended the day with a nice 15" weakfish.

Super day out on the water today. Very light wind and flat seas. A lot of fish caught today. Within the first 15 mins, a double header of a scup and a black sea bass. Lots of scup caught. We also hook onto a dogfish, and end the date with a nice size skate. One huge scup was caught around 1.5 pounds+ easily!

First trip of the season! Great day out on the water. Lots of fish caught. scup and dogfish kept us busy. Big catch of the day was a huge skate. We caught it on a $9 walmart fishing pole. Took a long time to get to the boat but he did a great job reeling it in. I'll be trying to schedule more trips during the week on good weather days.

Tiverton Tails Fishing School is Back!
It's almost June, which means Tiverton Tails Fishing School is gearing up for its second season! Last year was a blast, with exciting trips and plenty of fish caught—including a rare small shark! Who knows what surprises this season will bring?
This free fishing school is exclusively for Tiverton residents and is open to kids aged 8–15. Each trip allows two kids and one parent, and due to high demand, each participant can only attend once.
Sessions run Monday through Friday, from 3 PM to 7 PM, depending on the weather. All bait and fishing gear are provided, and catching a fish is guaranteed!
If you'd like to sign up, send me a Facebook message, and I'll provide a registration form.
Looking forward to another great season on the water!

Another great day with this summer like weather. Today was the day of the scup with tons into the boat today. I think everyone caught at least 20+ of them this trip. We did catch a few black sea bass. Only one dogfish today. Once again, we caught another kingfish, which I think is the best tasting fish out there for dinner.

Fishing still going strong at Tiverton Tails Fishing School. We had a perfect day today. Tons of scup caught today. A new fish caught on the boat today, a northern puffer fish! We also caught a few black sea bass, one northern kingfish and about five dogfish. One highlight today was when a sea turtle swam by.

Another really nice trip out on the water on Tiverton Tails. Some really good fishing today. We caught some jumbo scup! A nice size kingfish and black sea bass also caught. We lost one big one that snapped the line and we never saw it. We were using squid and sandworms for bait. He said during fishing, I want to catch a dogfish before the trip is over and guess what, last drop, he pulls in a nice size one.

What a day today on the water! We started the trip with scup after scup into the boat with some black sea bass in the mix. We saw a 11" shrimp go by! Then a few mins later, a huge skate took the line, but that was not all, also a scup on the rig with a sweet double header catch. Large sea robin also caught and a small dogfish. On one of the last drops of the day, something big took the line and ran with it. When we saw it, I quickly yelled someone grab the net. It was a 3 foot spinner shark!!! So think twice the next time you are swimming at Grinnell's Beach. A spinner shark is super rare to catch in Rhode Island.

What a great day on the water yesterday! It's later in the season so fishing can be a bit slow, but not for the double header king. I lost track of how many times he kept pulling up 2 fish, and even calling double header before we could see the fish. Lots of scup and black sea bass caught. One huge scup! Right at the end he hooked on a big fish, and when we got it to the boat, I had to get the net to pull in this monster dogfish.
