Churchland High School Truckers Boys Soccer

It was a week of first for the Trucker Boys!

Soph. Captain Makai Williams helped to deliver the Truckers their first win against 5A Green Run on Tuesday. With two minutes remaining Williams was brought down in the box and buried the resulting penalty. This was Williams first goal at the varsity level!

On Weds. night the Truckers travelled to Manor where once again the youthful attack sprang to life. Freshman Maceo Thomas opened the scoring for the Truckers with his first Varsity goal. It wasn't long before Soph. Malik Payne opened his account for the Truckers at the Varsity level. Junior goalkeeper Gabe Roper made a brilliant save on a penalty only for the second attempt to find the back of the net. Junior Capt. Kj Coleman gave the Truckers the dagger goal that would put the game to bed.

Both victories were made possible by the stalwart back four led by Senior Caden Caris.

The Truckers travel next to 5A Nansemond River on Friday.

The Soccer program, for both boys and girls, will host an interest meeting on Monday December 4th at 3 pm in the Cafeteria.

Big win from the lads tonight. 5-0 over Kings Fork to advance in regional play for the first time in 5 years.

One last dance. Proud of the guys and the foundation they’ve laid this season. Not the way we wanted it to end but we learn, we grow, and we rebuild. But most importantly we do it all as one. The guys insisted on return to the school to run one more Manchester together, in the dark, on the game field. To our seniors, thank you. To our rising players, game on!

A special thanks to these seniors who have given it all these last 4+ years to the program for the orange and black! We wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Truckers soccer will always be home and we look forward to an alumni return. We’re not done yet though…. Onward to the post season!
