๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ‘• HAWAIIAN SHIRT FRIDAY STRIKES AGAIN! ๐Ÿ‘•๐ŸŒบ

The Hawaiian shirt tradition is still going strong! ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ˜Ž

Some of our 4th Year Apprentices came through this week sporting their shirts, and we were loving it! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸŒบ

Wellโ€ฆ almost all of them. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Apparently, Dylan Bradford saw what was happening and decided to make a run for it! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜‚ I think he might have been a little scared of the Hawaiian shirt challenge! ๐Ÿ˜‰

But thankfully, we had some brave souls willing to step up to the challenge! ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŒด

Our Training Director, Matt Louanglath, and instructor Ryan Middleton were both UP FOR THE CHALLENGE and joined in on the Hawaiian shirt fun! ๐Ÿ‘•๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ‘

This tradition just keeps getting better and better!

Who knowsโ€ฆ maybe Hawaiian Shirt Friday is becoming an official tradition around here! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ‘• or we may do a who wore it better poll @

We are thrilled to officially reintroduce and elevate our continuing education program to CET Training (Continuing Education & Training)! This streamlined, high-quality professional development program is designed specifically for all members and contractors of IBEW Local 575โ€”covering Contractors, Journeymen, CWs, CEs, and apprentices.

Whether you are looking to boost your exam readiness, sharpen your safety compliance, secure CW/CE advancement, or fulfill contractor continuing education requirements, our courses are mapped to clear learning outcomes and contact hours to help you take your career to new heights.

Our very first course available for registration is NFPA 70E, taking place at our Training Center on September 18, 2026, at 8:00 AM

What is NFPA 70E? This course covers electrical safe work practices under NFPA 70E, including arc flash awareness, approach boundaries, personal protective equipment selection, and lockout tagout. Members practice identifying hazards and applying the right protection before energized work. By the end, a member can recognize an electrical hazard, select and wear the correct PPE, and follow a lockout tagout procedure.

Please note that the registration deadline for NFPA 70E class is Thursday, September 17, 2026, so we can properly accommodate classroom setup and meals.

How to Register:
Visit our website at www.eta575.org, navigate to the Training tab, and select Training Schedule from the pull-down menu.

Donโ€™t settle when you can sharpen your competitive edge, expand your skill set, and elevate your entire career? Be sure to sign up today, and keep your eyes peeled for more exciting upcoming CET training classes in the near future!

It has been such an incredible and bustling week here at the Electrical Training Academy! Between classes, holding aptitude testing, Job Fairs, and welcoming visitors for tours, there is never a dull moment.

Our Training Coordinator, Jordan Finfrock, has been especially busy hitting the road to visit our wonderful Career and Technical Centers (CTCs) as the school year kicks off. Jordan has been visiting students and instructors to share some sweet treats with "Scent From Heaven" donuts and start the year off launching a strong pre-apprenticeship partnership designed to make students truly job-ready.

Earlier this week, Jordan stopped by Pike County CTC (pictured, Pike CTC Students)โ€”where he spoke to the enthusiastic studentsโ€”He also visted this week with Scioto County CTC and Greenup County ATC, and he is wrapping up the tour at Lewis County CTC today! We want to send a huge thank you to all the CTC instructors and their leadership for partnering with us to build a stronger, highly skilled workforce for the future. ๐Ÿ‘ท๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผโšก

๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒด THE HAWAIIAN SHIRT TAKEOVER CONTINUES! ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒบ

The 3rd Years came out in full Hawaiian shirt style last Friday! ๐Ÿ‘•๐ŸŒบ And apparently, the fun was too contagious to resist because even our new Business Admin joined in on the shirt fun! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™Œ

Iโ€™d say we officially have a Hawaiian shirt movement happening around here! ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ˜Ž

But now the big questionโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘€ Will this weekโ€™s 4th Years join in?! ๐Ÿ‘€

Only time will tellโ€ฆ but Iโ€™m definitely looking forward to seeing what happens! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒบ

We had an incredible time this past Saturday at the Route 23 Family Festival! ๐ŸŒŸ

Events like this give us a wonderful opportunity to support our community, connect with future apprentices, and talk with families, kids, and local businesses about the exciting career paths available through our programs and IBEW Local 575. It was so rewarding to build meaningful relationships and show firsthand the high standards of training, skill, and community dedication that define our work.

A huge thank you goes out to the dedicated IBEW Local 575 staff and our hardworking RENEW members who came out to support this great event. We also want to give a special shoutout to our amazing ETA staff members who helped make the day such a success!

If you or someone you know is interested in learning a craft, building a rewarding career, exploring our Foundations for the Trades Pre-Apprenticeship program, or build a career in the electrical industry through apprenticeship we would love to connect with you. Visit us at www.eta575.org or www.fftohio.org to learn more!

๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ‘• THE HAWAIIAN SHIRT MOVEMENT IS CATCHING ON! ๐Ÿ‘•๐ŸŒบ

Apparently, the apprentices have decided that Hawaiian shirts are officially a thing! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™Œ

Last week, our 3rd Year Apprentices showed up representing the island vibes:

๐ŸŒด Levi Martin
๐ŸŒด Dylan Morton
๐ŸŒด Caleb Osborne
๐ŸŒด Brandon Perry
๐ŸŒด James Willbanks
๐ŸŒด Nick Howell

And let me tell youโ€ฆ they understood the assignment! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘

Iโ€™m thinking this might be turning into a full-blown apprenticeship tradition. ๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Canโ€™t wait to see what this coming week brings!!! ๐Ÿ‘€

Whoโ€™s next to join the Hawaiian shirt crew? ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ‘•
