As another wonderful school year comes to a close, Portsmouth Nursery School is officially on summer break! ☀️🫧🌊

At PNS, we are proud to be one of the area's few true nursery schools—a small, play-based program where childhood is celebrated, curiosity is encouraged, and meaningful connections are made each day.

While our classroom may be quiet for the summer, we'll still be checking email periodically and would love to connect with prospective families.

We currently have openings in our 3-year-old class for the 2026–2027 school year and would love for you to become part of our school family.

Today we celebrated our amazing 4 year old class and all they’ve learned, explored, and accomplished this year. Afterward, some pals headed to the playground for one more chance to play “after school” before summer begins!

We are so proud of each and every one of these children and cannot wait to see where their next adventures take them. Congratulations!

A perfect day at the zoo 🐻🦒🐐
Our 4-year-old class spent the day exploring Buttonwood Park Zoo with families, siblings, and friends. We wandered the paths, visited the animals, climbed and played, and wrapped up the afternoon with a picnic lunch on the lawn. These simple days together full of curiosity, connection, and childhood joy are the ones we’ll remember! 💚

What a day! Students got to ride a school bus to a real elementary school, get a tour, and even check out the third grade wax museum!

Portsmouth Nursery School is rooted in play, creativity, community, connection, and letting little ones truly be little.

As we wrap up another sweet year in our 3-year-old classroom, we’re sharing some real everyday moments that make this place so special.

Our 4-year-old class is currently full for Fall 2026, but we still have a few openings remaining in our 3-year-old class.

Tours will continue through the first week of June before the classrooms are packed away for summer break. We’d love to welcome families in before the school year comes to a close!

Spreading a little Easter cheer 💛. Our PNS students had the sweetest visit to Atria Aquidneck Place — sharing their spring artwork, hunting for eggs, and bringing smiles to so many faces.

We’re so grateful for this special relationship and love that our students get to visit multiple times throughout the year. It’s such a beautiful reminder that kindness doesn’t stop at the classroom doors.
