September is knocking on the door, and our Patriots are hitting the ground running before Labor Day weekend even gets here. It's a packed week of soccer and volleyball across every level, with our teams battling both at home and on the road. Here's what's on deck:

🏐 JJV, JV, and Varsity Volleyball travel to Suffolk Christian Monday for a full slate of matches
⚽ JJV Soccer welcomes Mt Pleasant Christian and Varsity Soccer battles Walsingham, both at home Thursday
🏐 JJV Volleyball closes the week on the road against Nansemond Suffolk

Today's the day! Our halls are filling up with backpacks, new sneakers, and a whole lot of excitement as we kick off the 2026-2027 school year. Whether you're a returning family or joining us for the very first time, we're so glad you're here.

We can't wait to see what God has in store for this school year, and we're grateful for the chance to walk alongside your family in it. Here's to a year of learning, growing, and becoming the leaders God created each of them to be.

Meet the Teacher is tomorrow, August 17th! 🎉

Stop by school from 9-12 PM or 1-3 PM to meet your child's teacher, see their classroom, and drop off school supplies before the big first day. It's a great chance to say hello, ask questions, and get everyone excited for the year ahead.

🔴 PCS, meet our final new team member for the upcoming school year! 🔵

Please join us in welcoming Andrea Cofield, our new PE and Health Teacher, to the PCS family!

Andrea is a 2003 PCS grad, and PCS runs deep in her family, her sister and brother are alums too, and now her own girls get to be part of the same school family she grew up in. As a student, Andrea played on the PCS girls soccer team that won their division back-to-back in 2002 and 2003! She holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (with an emphasis on health) from Liberty University and a MA in Pastoral Counseling from Regent University.

Andrea chose PCS because she believes deeply in Christian education, not just for her own girls, but for every student. Her heart is to see students grow in their faith and become who God created them to be, in mind, heart, and character. This year, she's most looking forward to growing and building relationships with students, faculty, and staff.

Andrea is a wife to an amazing husband, a mom to two girls, and a dog mom to Duke. Her family loves anything outdoors, bike rides, beach days, mountain trips, and swimming. She's also into audiobooks, soccer, women's basketball, and lifting heavy!

🔴 Help us welcome another new Patriot to the team! 🔵

Please join us in welcoming Madison Shearin, our new Teacher Assistant, (back) to the PCS family!

Madison’s PCS story goes back years. She attended PCS from 5th through 12th grade and graduated in 2024, following in the footsteps of her parents, who are also PCS graduates. Her mom Rebecca works here too in our main office, and her little brother is a current PCS student, so this really is a family affair! Madison got her start working with kids during her junior year, when she joined the extended care program. She loved it so much she stayed on through last school year, also helping out with Summer Camp along the way.

This year, Madison’s most looking forward to connecting with the children and getting to know each of their unique personalities. She loves watching kids learn, grow, and gain confidence over the course of a year, and says choosing PCS was easy since she’s already experienced firsthand how everyone here feels like family.

When she’s not at school, Madison loves the beach and spending time with friends. Fun facts: her favorite candy is anything chocolate or sour, and you can almost always find her enjoying a Dr Pepper!

🔴 Help us welcome another new Patriot to the team! 🔵

Please join us in welcoming Casey Brown, our new K-4 teacher, to the PCS family!

Casey was born and raised right here in Hampton Roads, and her connection to PCS runs through family, watching her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Brown, pour their hearts into this school for years is what drew her to the sense of community here. She brings a background in healthcare, where she focused on patient education and training new employees, experience she’s excited to bring into the classroom.

This year is extra special for Casey since her oldest daughter will be starting K-3 at PCS, meaning they get to start this journey together! At home, she and her husband Joel are raising two daughters, Goldie and Lucy, and love spending time at the beach and camping as a family. When she’s not at school, you’ll likely find her digging in the garden or planning next season’s flower beds.

Fun fact: Casey has surfed in the Arabian Sea off the west coast of India!

🔴 Help us welcome our newest Patriot to the team! 🔵

Meet Meloney Gardner, our new Administrative Assistant in the Elementary office!

Not a "new face" around PCS, Meloney's story actually started years ago, she attended here during her middle school years, and has spent the last 8 years subbing for the school. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, she worked in the dental field. This year, she's looking forward to getting to know all the students.

Meloney is the parent of three teenagers (1 PCS Alum and 2 current students), and family time is her favorite time. Whether it's boating, fishing, or trips to the Eastern Shore and Outer Banks, she loves when everyone can be together. At home, she's got quite the crew: three dogs, two cats, and a rotating cast of gerbils and guinea pigs!

Please join us in welcoming Mary Catlin, our new 1st grade teacher, to the PCS family!

Mrs. Catlin holds a Master's Degree from ODU and brings 14 years of experience teaching K-2. She chose PCS because she wanted her own children in a Christian school and the chance to teach in a faith-based environment that feels like family, too. This year, she's especially looking forward to being at the same school as her kids.

Mary is a Christian, military wife, and mom of two who loves spending time with her family and writing. Fun fact: she's a self-published/indie author!
