Mr. Ketter teaches science and he’s growing 5 different types of vegetables. He’s growing 2 different types of lettuce, arugula, basil, bell peppers, and cucumbers. He says he wants to use the grow towers to show students how to grow plants starting seeds and how to care for them. He also says he’s excited that the students get to see how some of their food is grown. Finally he said that hopefully they learn to appreciate how much time and work is involved in planting and growing food.

Mr.Hartman says “I'm growing leafy vegetables and am very excited about how we, as a community, can provide food to other students and people in need.” He is using them also as a water reduction system which is saving water for the environment. He says “we aren't an agricultural school and we grow vegetables and we can provide food in the 21st century which is very good and that fact that we are able to do that is amazing.” And in doing all of this we are teaching kids plant security and how to plant food so that whenever they grow up to be adults they can provide for themselves.
