Join the Portsmouth Area Children’s Theatre’s Junior Company this spring as they take the stage and make a splash in The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition!

When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world!

Ali Thompson is incredibly excited to be directing this exciting musical for the Portsmouth Area Children’s Theatre’s Junior Company this spring and can’t wait to bring this story to life!

The Portsmouth Area Arts Council is pleased to partner with the South Central Ohio ESC’s Gifted Services Department to offer a unique art workshop for local students!

The class is on Tuesday, September 26, from 5:30-6:30 in the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts and is open to students currently in 3rd-6th grades. There is no cost to attend, but the class size will be capped at 20 students and filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

In honor of PACT’s upcoming production of Beauty and the Beast, the participating students will create self-portraits showcasing their “beautiful” AND “beastly” selves. SSU alum Keri Sagraves Dodds will lead and encourage the young artists to be as creative as possible with the colorful self-portraits they create.
