Through light, informed touch, certified AT teacher, Leslie K. Ward, works in harmony with the nervous system to facilitate ease and comfort in the body.
The Alexander Technique is a hands-on study of habit as it manifests in the body. Through light, informed touch, Alexander Technique teachers harness information from the nervous system to guide students towards an experience of greater ease and comfort. Students gain a greater understanding of dynamic alignment, accurate body mapping, and self care, transforming excessive effort into useful energ
y, becoming relaxed, ready, and more fully present to the world around them. Individual sessions are typically 45 minutes in length, and are given with the student fully clothed, unlike massage. Sessions can be performed inside or out, standing, sitting, lying down, as well as inside of an activity. This technique can be applied to a variety of activities, from music to sports, data entry to meditation. It is also an incredibly useful tool for management of chronic pain, injury prevention and rehabilitation, pre-natal care, aging, and weight loss. Leslie has 10+ years of experience in the work, receiving her certification through the Alexander Alliance International, under master teacher, Robyn Avalon. She is available for individual sessions and workshops by appointment. Contact Leslie via email at [email protected], or by phone at (503) 953-6680, to schedule a session.
