Great news!

The US District Court for the District of Maine has denied ballot petitioners' attempt to stop the Secretary of State from enforcing Maine’s rules and residency requirements for out-of-state circulators.

This decision upholds Maine's voter rules and strongly affirms that the anti-trans citizen initiative does NOT qualify for the ballot in November.

Yesterday a rule prohibiting federal Medicaid reimbursement for transgender healthcare for youth was announced. This is not a ban on care, and it should not change anything about care for transgender youth in Maine.

In partnership with our friends at The Lucky Fox Bookshop, we’re delighted to be hosting our fourth book fair at our New Leaders Project Summer Camp! Our goal is to provide each camper with a story of their choosing from a variety of books that highlight q***r stories, authors, and authentic representation.

With a donation of $25, you can help us put inclusive, q***r books in the hands of our campers! Thank you for helping ensure Maine's LGBTQ+ youth have access to literature they may not find in their school libraries! Check out these happy campers from year’s past - it truly is a highlight of their camp week!

Our hearts go out to the victims of the Berlin Pride attack. Pride is a celebration of love, visibility and equality - not a target for hate. This is why we still have Pride.

Because being able to gather openly, celebrate who you are, and exist in public without fear is not something everyone can take for granted.

We also reject any attempt to exploit this tragedy to fuel Islamophobia, racism or further division. The grief and fear of LGBTQ+ people must never be weaponized against another marginalized community.

ā€œViolence doesn’t begin with an attack. Violence begins with intolerance, with exclusion, with discrimination, with stupid remarks and bad jokes.ā€ - German chancellor Friedrich Merz

Imagine a future where everyone experiences true equality, care, respect, and safety. This July, we commemorate Disability Pride Month, a time to honor and celebrate the remarkable contributions of the disability community.

Did you know that 36% of the LGBTQ+ community in the US is disabled? And 39% of the trans community in the US is disabled?
Disabled LGBTQ+ people can face increased discrimination due to their intersecting identities and also experience systemic challenges finding accessible housing, employment, and inclusive and affirming healthcare.

For a deeper look into ongoing disability advocacy and ways to show your support, explore the impactful initiatives of our friends at Disability Rights Maine.
