To anyone planning to enroll in school for the 2026-27 academic year, this is the time to apply for the free application for federal student aid (FAFSA). The dateline is June 30, 2027. The sooner you apply the better chance you have.

Things to consider--file your tax soon or your parents' tax then apply for your FAFSA. You can apply before filing your tax, but it's best to have it done before.

One great news, you can still apply for FAFSA in this current 2025-26 academic year, by June 2026.
