Jay County Tennis Team defeats sectional opponent, Union City, 5-0 and 7-1 in Junior Varsity. Patriots record 6-1 and now ranked #8 in District 4. First time we have received that honor. Patriots back in action Thursday at Mississenawa.

Jay County, Champions of the Owl Invite, winning 3 matches, defeating host Muncie Burris, in the final 4-1. We used 3 different lineups as kids had to leave early, but the Patriots showed their depth and only fall at #1 Singles in the final.

Jay County Boy's Tennis Team traveled to Norwell to take on the Knights, the Patriots come away with a 5-0 win (with a small rain delay). Jay County used a 3rd different lineup to claim the win. #1 Singles Paul Dirksen, #2 Singles Henry Dirksen, and #3 Singles Clark Wellman all wiln in straight sets. #1 Doubles Job Dirksen and Kaydn Carpenter win in straight sets and #2 Doubles Jace Vance and Grady Warvel notched their 3rd win of the short season, a win by default. Patriots travel to Muncie on Saturday to play 3 matches at the Ball State Tennis Courts. Hope to see some Patriot fans at the courts.

Tonight the Jay County Tennis fought hard against a good Alexandria team and lost 2-3. Patriots win at #3 Singles, freshman Job Dirksen gets his 1st Varsity Singles win in 3 sets, #2 Doubles Sophomores Jace Vance and Grady Warvel win in straight sets to go 2-0, for the season, #1 Singles Paul Dirksen fights for 2 hours 42 minutes and loses in 3 sets, #2 Singles Henry Dirksen battles 2 hours and 48 minutes and falls in 3 sets (both matches went to 3rd set tiebreakers ). #1 doubles Alex Miller and Kayden Carpenter lose in two sets. Junior Varsity win 3 out of 6 matches. Back in action at Norwell on Thursday.

Jay County Boy's Tennis Team opened their season at home and defeated Madison Grant 4-1 and 2-0 in Junior Varsity. #2 Singles Henry Dirksen wins in 3 sets, #3 Singles Clark Wellman wins in 3 sets, #1 doubles Alex Miller and Job Dirksen win in 2 sets and #2 doubles Jace Vance and Grady Warvel win in 2 sets. Junior Varsity wins were Braydn Barlow and Parker McCoy. Patriots travel to Alexandria tomorrow and Norwell on Thursday.
