Wow, guys, holy heck!! I was finally able to get back through and now for an update (it’s only been 2 years?!!)

Ok so where to start. We started building up the blueberries and then the maple sweet lemonade biz starter to develop, so we built that up along with blueberry markets. And then everything was sort of on hold I guess you could say.

We got into common ground fair for the 2020 season and of course that didn’t happen. Last year, neither. And probably for good reason, I’d say!

With that said we are going to have a stand at CGF this year in the food area. Slinging maple sweet lemonade and a new product “fizzy fixers” which is basically an Italian soda. I admittedly love these beverages so we put together blueberry syrup, maple syrup, honey and elderberry syrup together and add CO2 for a fresh bev in the summer or whenever. I’d argue nutritional, certainly tasty and we are excited to be part of the largest eco focused agr fair in the northeast!!

We are also thinking about starting a canning operation potential and making a real enterprise out of it. Not sure if the ‘fizz or the lemonade will catch on first but the fair is trusted to be a good gauge 🍋 🫐 🍁

Hi everyone! It's been a while, it sure has. We are going to still be doing flowers from time to time for events/weddings but have shifted our focus to cultivating, managing and harvesting wild blueberries in the midcoast part of our state. It's challenging work, hard work really, but it is focused into a small part of the year, most of August is when we are out in the fields busy.

Farming has been a great challenge in figuring out what makes the most sense for our specific situation. Some love the busy-ness of vegetable production from early spring through harvest season end of October. Some go full tilt and live it year round, working markets in the winters as well as the growing season. Some just do it for fun, finding reward in having an abundant and productive garden. We have figured that for farming to work for us, it needs to be in a defined part of the year where we are available to tend to our crop full on and hopefully do it right. Where passion and reality meet is somewhere right in the middle of where we exist as seasonal farmers.

We are wrapping up our first year selling blueberries as the fresh markets start to slow down and we start putting berries to the freezer. It's been fun, hand raking and preparing flats and boxes for our markets, enjoying a couple blueberries along the way ourselves. Farmers market was fun as we figure out how much is not enough to fulfill the markets specific what the coast has to offer. We filled the freezer already a couple times over to get 5 pound boxes to families wanting to fill their own freezers for the winter. The success of the "Maple Sweet" stand is affirming that people still like the classics that are part of summertime.

It is really cool to see community and friends supporting eachother as well. To have people come to you happy to pay what your labor and product is worth as they value what you are doing and see its worth, maybe beyond themselves. It feels nice to be outside, to coordinate deliveries, to work in the rain, to stay up late into the night to make sure everything you worked so hard to produce is ready for the market.

Finally have some sunflowers! Normally I have them in early July but this year most were taken out by either 🦌 or 🐌, bummer!! Glad to see my 3rd planting made it through, hah!

Korean Mint, Lavender Bergamot and Tennessee Coneflower—some to be dried for a winter tea mix and some for a sun tea to be enjoyed during the warmer months 🌞Our volunteer sunflower is 8 feet and still growing!! 🌻

Even though we haven’t hit the major push for harvesting, we are still excited to be cutting some awesome blooms in July! These cuts are for Sam and Jason’s wedding, congrats!

Yarrow—another favorite of ours. Super productive, early season cut fresh or dried, shown here. Smells so nice when harvested and the bees love them equally! 🐝
