🎓✨ Celebrating one of our amazing BB2S alumni!

We are so excited to share that one of our alumni has officially begun his pre-med studies at Yale University this fall!

Mekhi's journey with BB2S started years ago when he was an elementary school student participating in one of our off-site programs at Kairos PDX. Since then, he has participated in several of our programs and experiences, growing with us throughout the years.

This summer, before beginning his college journey, he returned to BB2S as a volunteer. It was especially meaningful to see a student who joined us as a young learner come back to give back to the next generation of students.

We are incredibly proud of how far he has come and excited for where this next chapter will take him. We know this is only the beginning, and we can't wait to see all that he will accomplish on his journey toward medicine! 🩺🎓💙

Congratulations, and keep shining! 🌟

Our Semiconductor Program Is Returning This Fall!

We’re excited to announce that our semiconductor program is coming back with an expanded focus on Introduction to Electronics & Circuitry!

Last year, students had the opportunity to explore semiconductor technology through hands-on circuit design and learn directly from seasoned engineers who provided valuable mentorship and insight into careers in STEM.

This year, we’re building on what we learned and making the experience even better.

Our 8-week program will give students the opportunity to explore electronics, build circuits, develop problem-solving skills, and gain practical experience while learning from STEM professionals.

We believe students learn best when they can build, experiment, ask questions, and see their ideas come to life.

We’re looking forward to another exciting season of hands-on STEM learning! 🚀

This year’s BioGlow theme invites students to explore the incredible world of biodiversity and natural habitats while thinking about how technology can help protect the environment. 🌎💡

Students will work together to research problems, develop creative solutions, and build and program their LEGO® robots, all while building communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills.

If your student is ready to create, explore, and innovate, there’s still time to register!

Our college tour continued with an exciting visit to Rice University! 🎓🐝

Our students were impressed not only by Rice’s academic excellence, but also by the welcoming and hospitable atmosphere created by the staff and students. From the thoughtfully designed campus to the sense of community throughout, it was a memorable experience for our group.

We are especially grateful to the Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen for welcoming us and providing our students with an inside look at their innovative space. Experiences like these help our students see what’s possible and imagine themselves on campuses where they can learn, create, and thrive.

Thank you, Rice University, for such a warm welcome! 💙

Our college tour continues in Texas! 🎓⭐

We had the privilege of visiting Texas Southern University and the University of Houston, giving our students an opportunity to experience two incredible campuses and learn more about the college journey.

From exploring campus to learning about academic opportunities, every stop is helping our students see what’s possible and imagine themselves taking the next step toward their future.

🌟 Summer Staff Spotlight! 🌟

Our summer programs wouldn’t be possible without the amazing staff who show up each day ready to teach, encourage, mentor, and have fun with our students!

This summer, our staff had the opportunity to create meaningful connections with students, explore STEM through hands-on activities, support field trips and camps, and grow their own skills along the way.

We asked some of our summer staff to share what their experience with Building Blocks 2 Success meant to them. 💙
