Yesterday, we gathered for a student-led Stations of the Cross service, entering into prayerful reflection on Jesus’ journey to the cross. Students invited us to consider both the story we remember on Good Friday and the ways suffering continues in our world today.

On this Good Friday, we wish the SMA community a blessed and holy day. May this sacred time call us to recognize one another as siblings in Christ, to reject all that seeks to oppress and harm, and to move forward together with grace, compassion, and a shared commitment to healing and justice.

Last night, we hosted Dr. Jesse Hendryx-Dobson from for a community event unveiling the exhibit Racing to Change: Oregon's Civil Rights Years, a deep look into the story of Black education in Oregon.
