Giving back....This fall there are eight opportunities for alumni like you to provide students guidance first-hand through the 30 Minute Mentoring program. "30 Minute Mentoring" is designed to help our students make personal and professional connections with a USM graduate. This is a time for them to learn more about a particular profession, gain some insight to help them on their career path, or even just learn how to engage in conversations and network.

This fall there are eight opportunities for alumni like you to provide students guidance first-hand. Each session will begin with a brief 15 minute orientation, followed by two 30-minute student appointments. There is no obligation to continue mentoring outside the sessions, and students will not be seeking resume or employment assistance. We will assign the students to mentors and provide basic information about them. They will also get a chance to learn a bit about you from the biographical sketch and photo we would ask you to provide to us. You are welcome to choose more than one session, we would be very appreciative.

The Fall 2015 Mentoring Sessions are as follows:

November 9th
10:45a - 12:00p, Gorham
1:45p - 3:00p, Gorham

November 17th
5:15p - 6:30p, Gorham

November 18th
10:15a - 11:30a, Portland
4:15p - 5:30p, Portland

November 19th
9:30a - 10:45a, Gorham

For the second consecutive year, Forbes is holding its annual campaign, giving you the chance to share with the world how USM has shaped or inspired you.

Have a spot on the Portland, Gorham or Lewiston campuses that is special to you? A favorite event? A favorite class? A professor or colleague who inspires you? A study abroad program that shaped your view of the world? Share these memories and more with us on USM's Twitter and Instagram feeds by mentioning and including the hashtag .

Forbes will feature the best and most unique moments shared on Twitter and Instagram on the website, their social media profiles and will even include some in an upcoming edition of the magazine.

Once the campaign ends, we’ll compile the best responses from the USM community and share them on our social media platforms.
