As President of the Jewish Law Society at Maine Law, I had the privilege of spending this weekend in Washington, D.C., attending the Jewish Graduate Organization’s Partner Summit. The summit brought together Jewish graduate student leaders from across the country to connect, exchange ideas, and discuss how we can best lead and serve in our respective roles.

In addition to strengthening our leadership skills, the JGO provided us with the opportunity to advocate on Capitol Hill and meet with members of Congress and their staff to discuss the Jewish American Security Act, which is currently pending. This legislation is particularly important as it seeks to address the rise of antisemitism on college and university campuses and strengthen protections for Jewish students.

A sincere thank you to the Jewish Graduate Organization and its entire team for organizing such a meaningful and impactful weekend. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from fellow student leaders, engage in important advocacy, and continue developing as a leader within the Jewish community! ✡️🤍

JLS is excited to kick off the incoming semester with a pre-orientation tour of Portland! We invite incoming 1Ls, current members, and alumni to join us for “Hidden in Plain Sight,” a fascinating guided tour exploring Portland’s rich Jewish history and the stories woven throughout the city.

We’ll meet at the Maine Jewish Museum at 2:00 p.m. We encourage everyone to arrive a little early to explore the museum and historic synagogue, both of which are open to visitors free of charge before the tour. We hope you’ll join us for a fun afternoon of history, community, and connection!

Congratulations and farewell to the Maine Law Class of 2026 in their final days of law school! My classmates in this group were some of my biggest supporters in bringing this student organization to life. It feels surreal to say goodbye to my first e-board and members. You all helped shape this organization into something meaningful, and your impact on the law school will not be forgotten.
