We went into math review just hoping to make learning a little more fun, but it turned into SO much more! 🥹

Watching these 4th graders brag on each other’s hard work in our “math gallery” and light up when they received compliments was the sweetest thing. 💜

🦴🦴The Human Body is truly an amazing machine! Mrs. Moyers’ 1st Grade made a model of the bones in our hands after studying The Skeletal System. 🦴🦴

💜🤍💜🤍💜

What a way to wrap up Paint the Town Purple and Homecoming Week! Portland Elementary showed OUT with their school spirit! 💜🤍 From head to toe, these students were dressed in their purple and white, and there were so many cute and creative outfits that choosing winners was definitely not easy!

•Pre-K: Louise Harper Hill & Khase Woods
•Kindergarten: Asher Raney, Adelyn Vargas & Benjamin Talkington
•1st Grade: Kassidy Duckery, Hayden Tripp Graham, Molly Mallet & Will Moyers
•2nd Grade: Delilah Cingolani, Owen Dunigan, & Luke Hunnicutt
•3rd Grade: Ryann Butler, Elliot Graham, John Navarro & Georgia Talkington
•4th Grade: Maibry Moyers & William Young
•5th Grade: Wyatt Hill & Paisley Huante
•Teacher Spirit Awards: Danielle Hill & Sarah Higginbotham

Thanks to the generosity of Barksdale Federal Credit Union, we were able to give our spirit winners Sonic gift cards! Their support even allowed us to give away a few extra spirit awards this year at Portland Elementary, Noble Elementary, and Albritton Elementary. We were also excited to recognize two Portland teachers, Danielle Hill and Sarah Higgins, with Teacher Spirit Awards! 💜

We are so thankful for every student, teacher, and staff member who participated and helped make Homecoming Week so much fun. Seeing our schools filled with purple and white and watching everyone get excited about supporting the Hamburg Lions is exactly what this week is all about! GO LIONS! 🦁

Our 3rd graders got to observe soybean harvesting up close! Big thanks to Logan Smith for making a special trip to dump in the grain cart so we could watch! We learned how our farmers work so hard and play such an important role in feeding America. 🇺🇸
One student said “He has to do that ALL DAY??” 😆😅

How special it is to have a family farm right across the street to bring real-world learning right to our classroom! 💚

A big THUMBS UP to our farmers! 👍🏻🚜🌱
