Held in-person at Bowdoin Children's Center in Brunswick, the program consists of intimate discussion and community building around designing outdoor, nature-based learning experiences that foster belonging, equity, and healthy development for every child. Take advantage of one or all three workshops.

A reminder that our Maine Credential Info Sessions are on-going through the month of October! 🪴

If you've ever been curious if a Maine Credential is right for you, and are interested in furthering your knowledge in Early Childhood Education, we have drop in sessions available tomorrow on 8/27/26 via Zoom.

Members of our Credential team will be available to answer questions and requests for support regarding the individual Maine State Credentials and their requirements.

Starting this June, we're offering virtual drop-in sessions to walk you through the Credential requirements, as well as provide tips and support for folks currently going through the process!

These general information sessions will cover the following Maine Credentials: Director, Family Child Care, Inclusion, Infant Toddler, Preschool, Technical Assistance, and Youth Development.

Starting June 25th, 2026, sessions will be held:

We're doing another run of the Beyond Behaviors Book Club for Fall! 🍂

Facilitated by Shilo Johnson and Cathy Bohls, participants will be discussing Beyond Behaviors: Using Brain Science and Compassion to Understand and Solve Children's Behavioral Challenges by Mona Delahooke.

In this PLC, you will:

🔹Learn about the brain science behind children’s “behaviors”
🔹Gain an understanding of social-emotional development
🔹Explore individual differences that contribute to “behaviors”
🔹Discuss Solutions: safety, attunement, co-regulation, PLAY, de-escalation
🔹Collaborate with others to share positive experiences and resources

The book will be provided to all participants, and you'll receive 10 professional growth activity hours for your attendance.

Explore the why behind nature-based education and support safe and healthy play, learning, and development in outdoor spaces.
Offered by Maine Early Childhood Outdoors as part of its commitment to strengthening early childhood nature-based learning across Maine, this course is made accessible by a generous subsidy from The Quimby Family Foundation and costs $75 per participant. In-person sessions take place at To Thrive in Windham; virtual sessions and independent work are also included.
