We had a fun event with our favorite local musician Krysteana Scribner Music & also with meeting new community friends in S**o! 💚

I had such a wonderful time performing at The S**o Scoop on October 4 from 1–3 PM! 🎶❤️

This special afternoon of music was a benefit for Lymetv - a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness, providing education, and promoting the prevention of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses.

In just two hours, we raised a total of $181 for LymeTV! 🎉

This was my very first time organizing an event like this, and I learned so much throughout the process. I’m incredibly grateful for the experience and look forward to future opportunities to use my music as a way to give back and support causes I truly believe in.

A huge thank you to The S**o Scoop for generously allowing us to host this event at their establishment, and to everyone who stopped by, listened to some music, made a donation, or simply showed their support. Every contribution makes a difference!

I’m so thankful for everyone who helped make this afternoon possible. Here’s to more music, meaningful connections, and opportunities to make a positive impact in our community! ❤️🎶

SIGNED INTO LAW! Today, September 30, 2026, the President signed S. 2398, the Kay Hagan Tick Reauthorization Act, into law - a major victory for the Lyme and tickborne disease community!

“Today marks an extraordinary moment for the Lyme and tickborne disease community and a powerful demonstration of what bipartisan advocacy can accomplish,” said Meghan Bradshaw, MPH, Executive Director of Center for Lyme Action. “The signing of the Kay Hagan Tick Reauthorization Act is the result of years of work by patients, families, researchers, public health professionals, advocates, and bipartisan champions in Congress who refused to let tickborne diseases fall off the national agenda. We are incredibly proud of the thousands of advocates across the country who raised their voices and made this victory possible.”

To our advocates: thank you for your tireless support, persistence, and dedication. Every meeting, email, phone call, and personal story helped bring us to this moment. We are deeply grateful to the patients, families, researchers, public health professionals, and bipartisan congressional champions who made this victory possible.

“Today we celebrate, but tomorrow we get back to work,” Bradshaw said. “Reauthorization gives us an important foundation. Now we must make sure the federal government follows through with the resources, implementation, and continued innovation necessary to change the trajectory of these diseases. This is a landmark victory—and it is just the beginning.”
Together, we’ll keep working to strengthen federal investments in research, prevention, diagnostics, treatments, and public health so patients and families have a stronger path toward answers and better outcomes.

Obsessive behaviors, sudden severe anxiety, tics, or drastic mood shifts aren’t always “just behavioral.” In many children, these sudden neuropsychiatric symptoms have an underlying medical cause—triggered by common infections like Lyme disease, tick-borne illnesses, or strep.

A message from our Executive Director, Adina Bercowicz, MPH:

URGENT: 3 days left in national voting (and my first time asking for your vote).

I’m stepping out of my usual routine today with an urgent request. My 3-minute short film, Emerging from the Abyss, is competing in the national HHS LymeX Healthathon—and public voting ends in 72 hours.

This is the very first time I am reaching out to ask for your vote. Between managing my own health and navigating limited energy while our team works non-stop on our fall youth programs, I haven't had the bandwidth until right now to make this push.

If I’m being candid, I really dislike popularity contests. I believe public health solutions should win on merit and impact alone. But to secure national visibility and funding for LymeTV, we have to follow the Healthathon rules—and right now, we need our supporters to step up.

About 75% of the people who get Lyme disease, contract it in their own yards during routine activities like gardening, playing, or relaxing outside?

Ticks are widely associated with deep woods, but they actually thrive in cool, shady, and humid environments, often lurking in the perimeter of your yard where grass meets the woods, in leaf litter, ground cover, and shrubs.

If you do get a tick bite, free tick testing is available for Pennsylvania residents through the Tick Research Lab of Pennsylvania. The lab tests ticks for diseases such as Lyme, anaplasmosis, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
