For some children, the hardest part of the school day happens before it has really begun.

Drop-off brings a major transition: leaving a parent or caregiver, entering a different environment and figuring out what comes next.

A predictable goodbye routine can help. Keeping that routine consistent, helping children know what to expect and working closely with families can make those first minutes of the day feel a little more manageable.

🌸Meet our Pink Room Prek2 Teachers! 🌸

We are so excited to introduce Carli Firestine, our Tuesday/Thursday Pink Room Teacher at Methodist Day School! 💗

Carli moved to Portland with her family five years ago and has loved being a part of the community ever since. When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll likely find her with a good book, baking something delicious, or making memories with her family during pool days.

Carli has a heart for working with young children and is excited to create a classroom where our little ones feel safe, loved, and encouraged to learn through play, exploration, and fun. Her caring spirit and enthusiasm make her a wonderful addition to our school family.

We are incredibly lucky to have Carli’s dedication and passion as part of our school community.
