My husband threw his back out last week and spent the last 7 days flat on his back. Even with muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatories, he was still experiencing muscle spasms in his back and leg. Basil oil to the rescue! I applied 2-3 drops to the problem areas and it helped immensely. Definitely one to keep on hand!

My whole life, my fair skin has struggled not to burn in the sun. Even with 50 spf sunscreen, I still get this. Since I started using lavendar, I don't suffer from the sting, the hot then cold skin, and the peeling. Highly recommended!

Hi everybody! I've been on hiatus as I focus on my emotions with all the unrest happening around us. I took some extra time to earn my wellness coaching certificate and took a class on the science of well-being. But now I'm back and ready to start sharing my wellness knowledge with you again.

Let's start with emotions, because if you're like me, you're struggling to maintain happiness and peace right now.

This bottle of oil called Joy is a special blend of oils meant to conjure feelings of happiness. It contains the single oils Bergamot, ylang ylang, geranium, lemon, coriander, tangerine, Jasmine, Roman chamomile, palmerosa, and rose. Its high frequency and feel good oils can have a great effect on our moods, and it's a must have if you're struggling to maintain right now.

Holiday survival tip #8:

Who's draggin? ✋ The Holiday go-go-go schedule can be exhausting. I like to turn to peppermint for a boost of energy during these times. I'll sniff it and apply it to my wrists. Young Living makes a blend called En-r-gee that has helped me too.

Below I've posted a recipe for an energy blend you can make at home into a roller bottle. Then when you feel sluggish, roll the blend onto your wrists and neck. Easy peasy!

Remember to try and get good sleep (cedarwood can help with that) and exercise. Both of these efforts can help with exhaustion.

Hope you all are enjoying the season!

Holiday survival tip #6: Avoid too much alcohol!

Here's some tips on how to not over drink and how to feel better if you do:

1. Eat first
2. Drink a glass of water between each drink. Put it in a wine glass so you still feel festive. Sparkling water counts!
3. To help a hangover, use lemon, fennel, or grapefruit essential oils to help release the toxins that make us sick from hangover.
4. Use Deep Relief or Panaway for the pounding in your head.
5. Use an antioxidant drink like Ningxia Red to rebalance your body.

Remember to not drink and drive, and have fun out there!

Holiday survival tip #5: Use oils to help digest food after over-indulging.

I use this blend DiGize after every meal that is bound to give me tummy troubles. This stuff is ahhhmazing! I either drink it in a small amount of water or I rub it over my belly.

Don't have the blend? Here are some single oils that are known to help aid in digestion:

Peppermint
Ginger
Anise/fennel
Juniper
Patchouli

So go get your eat on guilt free and simply reach for those oils before or after your meal!

Happy thanksgiving everyone!

We had a great discussion on Saturday about ways to survive the holidays and truly enjoy the season. I'm going to share these insights with you all over the next few weeks.

Here is tip #1: Use oils meant for reducing stress. The Young Living Stress Away blend is my favorite blend. You'll be amazed at how much easier life is with these oils!

Today is day 1 of my new exercise plan to build my muscles back up. It's been well over a year since I stopped working out and I can see the effects in my body. So today I worked my upper body and I can already tell I'm going to need Deep Relief later. I thank God for the amazing plants that make up this powerful blend!

Peppermint for life! One of my favorite summer uses is to put 5-6 drops of peppermint in a spray bottle filled with water. I shake it and spray it on the back of my neck when I need cooling, either from the heat of the sun or the heat of my 48 yr old body going through changes. Either way, it's a true gift from God!

Getting back to our "Roots"

The father of all oils: Frankincense.

This oil took me a little bit to get use to. But now I love it and can’t get enough of it.

Frankincense is incredible for so many different reasons:

1. It's an immune system supporting heavy hitter! Combine it with thieves and lemon and rub along the spine for extra support.
2. Use to maintain radiant skin. It’s ability to smooth the look of healthy skin makes this oil one of my favorites for aging skin. Apply neat or add to your favorite face cream.
3. When Stress Away isn’t enough I reach for my Frank. He’s always got my back. Diffuse or apply to your temples.
4. Frankincense has been used to awaken our spiritual awareness and connect with spirit for 5000 years or more. Diffuse during meditation or apply neat over your heart.
5. Wonderful to help reduce the appearance of scars.

This grounding oil is a powerhouse. 🦸‍♀️There are so many uses for it. 🏃‍♀️Go to your kit and grab it, open it and take a BIG whiff you won’t regret it. 🧘‍♀️
