Join artist Anne Storrs and author Leslie Barnard Booth this summer to practice your craft and make a comics/graphic story collection!

Art that Speaks: Comics and Graphic Storytelling
Explore the art of graphic storytelling in this workshop for students who love comics and graphic novels. We’ll analyze techniques used in great comics and graphic novels, practice the craft of weaving together word and image to tell a story and experiment with visual elements including color, layout and media. Each participant will create their own graphic story collection. All experience levels are welcome.

July 6-10, M-F, 9am - 1pm
Open to current 5th - 7th graders

Harrison Park Middle School is holding our second annual Student Maker's Faire on Saturday, February 7th from 10:00 a.m. at 1:00 p.m.. Our student vendors are making crochet art, homemade play dough and slime, key chains, jewelry, body and bath products, pins, 3D printed toys, cookies, fudge and so much more! Come buy a little something for your Valentine and check out the great Lunar New Year performances by YZ Dance Academy, One with Heart and a student led Dragon Dance.

One of our neighbor schools, Bridger Creative Science, is holding a Winter’s Makers Market. Visit them Friday, December 12 from 6-8:30 pm to find treats and treasures. If this event gets you excited to craft and create, watch for details about the Harrison Park Makers Market coming in early 2026.

Raising funds through the PTA allows for fun school events such as our upcoming movie night. We'll be showing a student favorite, Elf, on Friday, December 5 in the HP Auditorium. This is a free to all event with concessions sold cash only to support the HP Theater Department. Doors open at 6:15 pm, movie at 6:30 pm, and pickup at 8:15 sharp. All younger siblings must have adult supervision for the duration, while HP students may be dropped off.

No Stuff November 2025 We are excited to kick-off our ‘No Stuff November’ fundraiser at Harrison Park. “No stuff” means there’s nothing for your student to sell and nothing for friends and family to buy. You can directly support our school community without all the leg work of elaborate fundraising campaigns. We...

Our PTA has been discussing strategies to support our community and training is a great first step. This public training is provided by Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition (PIRC).

In the training, participants will learn more about how to recognize, report, and record ICE activity in your community. You will also learn how to respond to ICE sightings and get added to the PIRC hotline system. RSVP at the tinyurl links to register. The online training is at 7 p.m. and the in person training will be mid-day, around noonish, exact time TBD.
