Sipping on Three Finger Jack - an 8 year Willett Rye. It’s interesting, a puzzle if you will. I think I like it but requires more work. Will report back.

Jack Rose Night 3:
Returned for a pour of the magnificent Willett Trinidad Sour at 142.4 proof. Stayed for the Willett Haz Matters clocking in at 148 proof. Also absolutely magnificent.

Jack Rose, Day 2: The Willetting. Willett Bourbon on tap for this evening. They’re all fantastic. And Jack Rose is the best dang whiskey joint around. 5 Stars. Highly recommended.

Had a great time at the 5280 Whiskey Society / Suntory Japanese component whisky tasting. Got to try all of the components going into Hibiki’s Harmony and the finished product. Very educational and a metric butt tonne of whiskey fellowship. Yes it’s a valid unit of measurement.

Had a great time at the 5280 Whiskey Society / Mars Distillery tasting this evening. Didn’t know anything about Japanese whisky before and now I know it is delicious! My 4 favs are shown.

2024 Bombergers from the good folks at Mondo Vino.
Good nose, bourbony in all the right ways. A solid medium + on mouthfeel, not heavy but above average creaminess. Great on the palate, a touch of mint nut sparkle spice with a good bite, but not overwhelming bite like a few years ago. Finish is delightful.

Well hello you sexy Welsh beast.

A lot going on with this combo! A My Father No. 1 cigar and a pour of Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend Batch 277.
The My Father No. 1 is a solid cigar. A good deal more oomph than I’m used to but not overwhelming.
The Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend is a big heavy finished bourbon. All kinds of flavor going on. Flavors I’m too tuckered out to figure out. I think pairing this with a lighter cigar would be perfect for my over stressed palate.

I’m close, very close to perfecting the maple syrup Old Fashioned. Using 5280 Whiskey Societies Widow Jane pick and pairing with a Monte Cristo White Series isn’t part of the perfecting, but it works really, really well.
