Applications are officially open for the next cohort of the Founder Residency!
 
This year’s program runs September through December in Portland, Maine - 3 months of intensive, in-person support designed to make the startup ecosystem accessible to all. It’s completely free: no fees, no equity. If you’re working full-time on a tech startup with a product built and need help building a successful business and finding product-market fit, this program is for you! You’ll get 1:1 mentorship, curated educational programming, pro-bono legal, design, and business services, free office space, access to Northeastern’s global network, and much more.
 
And it works. 89% of our 45 portfolio companies are still operating or have been acquired, having collectively raised $92M+ and created 279 jobs in Maine and beyond. As one alum put it: “During the intensive, I made more progress in 4 months than in the 9 previous years.”

Project Management at the Roux 👀👀 Our student club, NUPM, hosted a Stand-Up Sprint that was was a huge success!

Three amazing teams tackled fast-paced project challenges… from building a vision to adapting on the fly. After an intense sprint, Team On-Time rose to the top and claimed the win! 🏆

Last week, our Roux community came together for something special: our very first One Community Service Week 🍁

From October 6-10, students, faculty, and staff rolled up their sleeves across Portland to support the nonprofits that make this city home. We prepped meals at Preble Street, cleared trails, cleaned beaches at Back Cove, and packed care items with Maine Needs.

This is what the Roux community looks like—a grad school where we don’t just talk about impact, we create it. Where we don’t just study in Maine, we invest in it.

To our nonprofit partners: thank you for trusting us with your mission. To our volunteers: you showed up, and Portland noticed. To everyone who organized, coordinated, and made this happen: this is just year one.

We’re counting down to the Magnetize Maine: Future Workforce Summit and hope you’ll join on campus for a packed day of networking and learning on Friday, October 10!

Presented by in collaboration with the Maine Development Foundation, , and ’s Roux Institute, the event will bring together employers, educators, and emerging leaders to reimagine Maine’s workforce of tomorrow.

The action-packed agenda includes three Roux speakers:
•Dan Koloski, head of learning programs and professor of the practice, on modernizing Maine’s workforce
•Allyson Barker, Future of Healthcare Founder Residency senior program manager, who’ll deliver closing remarks
•Brian Cavallaro, IT support specialist, who’ll present an AI workshop.
